#Panthers DC Steve Wilks exits Arizona after interviewing with the #AZCardinals yesterday with a possible #Colts interview looming. Sounds like AZ and Indy likely do second rounds. Giants may, as well.
Do you have a personal favorite?
Seems to me the Giants search is holding up the carousel right now, and I can't help but wonder if the Giants are stalling, hoping for an unlikely Titans win just to really see what happens up in New England should they lose and any of that stuff turns out to be true. I'm not sure how many of these remaining vacancies are filled before the Giants make a choice.
If they were sold on any of these candidates, they'd of hired them already.
It's a scary position to be in. Maybe they have a handshake deal in place. We know how those can fall apart if another teams steps in during the zero hour with more money
I think he is saying that Indy, AZ, and Giants are going to do a second round of interviews with Wilks

I don't want Spags. He's had 3-4 years now in different spots of having defenses that were simply dogshit. And injuries weren't that big of a factor for half the year on defense (linebackers started dropping like flies around mid-year).
I'm surprised that Studesville is even a candidate, but what do I know?
Schwartz always seemed like a dick to me, but again, what do I know?
I have said from the start that Wilks intrigues me the most, but I'm basing that on nothing more than what I've read. Honestly, I could care less as long as it is the right guy.
so we could have, in theory, made our decision but can't do a damn thing about it for another few weeks.
could the silence, in fact, be telling?

Yes.

They cannot sign a currently employed coach whose team is still active.
I'm not sure if they can announce an intention or offer the job verbally.
Silence may be telling. I'd say if Patricia stops interviewing and Wilks, signs elsewhere, then one of McDaniels or Patricia has a verbal commitment (or maybe Shurmur.)
Gilbride told me he pretty much had a HC job after the 2001/12 playoffs, but because the Giants went to the Super Bowl the team that he had interviewed with moved on because they didn't want to wait two more weeks.

Same here

at least as I understand it, if we wanted a Pats coach (Patricia, for example) we can't do anything until they are out of the PO's - correct?

Yes.
Agreed. I think it's Patricia, but they can't say anything until after the Pats are eliminated, which of course might not be until February. I also don't want Spags.
really rooting for a NE loss this weekend or next
Most interviews with playoff coaches won't begin again until the end of their year. The coaches who had a bye had some free time to interview. From now, they have to plan for their current teams during the week.

I'd love if NE loses Saturday, though I'd put the odds somewhere south of 0%.
I expect the Giants KNOW the exact situation with BB and with Saban as well. There are many ways that they could go through back channels
