NFT: Question for cyclists re: seat comfort

DC Gmen Fan : 1/11/2018 12:43 pm
Due to some lower leg issues, I need to stop running for awhile and switch to stationary bike. Problem is the seat is so damn uncomfortable that it takes away from the quality of the workout. My nether-regions ache for hours after.

Anyone have any suggestions? Do special padded shorts help with riding a stationary bike? Is it something you get used to?

Thanks
Don't know if being stationary matters

but padded biker shorts improve the condition as well as time on the seat. I've always been told you just have to get used to it. Bigger seats do not help, even though you would think they would provide more comfort.
I use a

padded foam seat cover that fits over the regular seat. It's pretty thick and does help quite a bit.
get padded shorts

they will make a difference. Time in the seat to toughen up your ass will help too.
Padded shorts definitely help.

But, too, you really have to work through it. It gets better.
I got one of these in the link below

Your legs should be only slightly bent when at the pedals are at the bottom. Most of your weight should be on your feet, not your ass
