Do not approve of that draft. Cuts, Resigns and F/A seem decent.
I don't think Bryce Love lasts that long
Modus Operandi : 1/11/2018 1:54 pm : link
I think he's going in the first.

There's a ton of RB you can substitute there. Sony Michel would have probably been the more popular choice.
That'd be one hell of a haul

I don't know if we'll..
FatMan in Charlotte : 1/11/2018 1:56 pm : link
pick a QB at #2 or trade down, but I'd be shocked if we don't draft one. I don't think we are going all-in with Eli. He'll be that starter and mentor for a year, but it won't just be to Webb.

We also can do better at PK than Hopkins.
I'm high

on Malik Jefferson as well.

much interest in Love. If we are taking a RB in the first 40 or so picks, he better be a bell cow type.
I love the 2nd and 3rd round picks
BigBlueHens : 1/11/2018 1:58 pm : link
Billy Price falling to 34. He is a good prospect who can play both C/G, but I think I would prefer him to play center, with Jones as the backup, or playing Jones at C and Price at RG. Bryce Love, who may be one of the most talented backs in this deep draft. Also re-signing Fluker, who could start at RG, or back up Price. Fluker is a good run blocker, but protecting the QB is not his strongest suit. I am a Fluker fan though. Malik Jefferson is also a great pick in the 3rd, giving the Giants much needed help at the linebacker spot.

However, I don't think they will take Conor Williams at 6. I honestly don't think any of the tackles will be worth it, but will have to wait for Sy'56 and Dave T to update us. WalterFootball.com now has Conor Williams the 10th overall tackle, going in the 3rd to 4th round because of injury and lack of strength. Might be a reach, and remember last time we reached on a OT (Flowers). If they don't take a QB, I would prefer Chubb or Fitzpatrick, adding talent and depth to the defense.

I like the cuts and free agent signings/re-signings. Paying a ton for Norwell but it gives much needed help to that O-Line.

I tried to go by NFL Draft Scout's player ratings and not be too generous.
Do not approve of the draft?

I would sign up for that draft real fast.
the Giants will NEVER
johnnyb : 1/11/2018 2:01 pm : link
trade with the Jets. same reason the Yankees and Mets do not trade much with each other. On this scale- the number two pick- will never happen.

I think of Love as a really good complement to Darkwa and Gallman. In some ways, I like Kerryon Johnson more and he'd be a better value later, but the prospect of an explosive player like Love in the top of second would be a nice pick up imo.

Thinking about Flowers was part of why Williams seemed like a better pick than Orlando Brown who doesn't have strength issues but has technique issues. Definitely will have to see how the OL prospects evolve over the next few months.
I like Conor Williams and don't think he's worth the 6th pick

in the draft. I know we need an OT, but picking these guys ahead of where they should be selected doesn't help the Giants in any way.
Not getting the QB
ryanmkeane : 1/11/2018 2:16 pm : link
really does kinda suck, but if we don't, this is the type of draft I'd want the Giants to have. The more picks we have in the top 60, the better.

I'm a Rosen fan. This was just an alternative scenario I was curious about. I think both situations could be good.

How many 195 lb RB's go in the 1st round? Right now, he's a 3rd down back. I'm not giving up a first for that.

For busy folks.

Why so much $ for kennard?
Skins Nick Rose looked very good when he replaced Hopkins.
Boy Cord : 1/11/2018 4:26 pm : link
My guess is the Skins try to keep Hopkins. Primary indicator is they actually activated Hopkins from IR the last few weeks of the season.

Also, the Eagles have two in Sturgis and Elliott. We all know Elliott can give the ball a ride.

The draft itself isn't terrible, in fact its very decent. Not sure I would go OT so high and if I did I would probably take the kid from OU. Doubt some of the players are around where would would pick them. Hate the RB in the 2nd. I really don't want Bromley, but have no choice, we need him for depth. Four million for Kennard seems high, he's not worth it to me. He might be our best LB, but probably a backup anywhere else! You would keep Darkwa and draft a RB in the 2nd? No thanks on Richardson, we already have King. If we don't go QB with our 2nd overall we need to take Barkley! If not cash in and trade and draft the best DP! Would love Payne, Fitzpatrick or Chubb!!! My take anyways!!

Jones is a RFA. He can't demand much. Fluker is a UFA.

Jerry is the 3rd guard at best in this scenario. So, well done.
Re. Jones
idiotsavant : 1/11/2018 5:30 pm : link
Split the difference and give the kid a respectable, not super high, long term contract.

Doesn't dictate that he wins any starting job, nobody has that right now, but we need pieces. Start building.

Fluker .. Depends what type of OL scheme... but he seems more like a short term piece. Could be wrong.
