"command the room" has become the new way to say somebody has "it", even though nobody knows what "it" is but uses it to strengthen their argument absent any real evidence.

Matt Patricia is still very much in play with the Giants despite rumors he's going to Detroit. He's right in the mix with Josh McDaniels and Pat Shurmur. Steve Wilks will be interviewed this week, but only 1 yr as coordinator has him fourth.

Yep. And if it's McDaniels, he can point to when he said he'd be the guy. He's also run a story on Belichick wanting the job. It's easy to guess correctly when you select all the answers.

I am not sold on McDaniels either ... that is the one situation I would avoid. There are just a number of things lining up there ... in fact, you could make the case that he, rather than Patricia, has proven that he hasn't risen outside of the Pat's system. Also, his reliance on Brady is quite clear.

He just handled that press conference perfectly. It's not about answering questions with any specific points - it's about introducing himself to fans and players and beginning to establish clear lines of delineation between him and the media. McAdoo looked to be in COMPLETE control of that room.
And yet the mouthbreathing clownshoes on BBI are focused on a suit. You know who you are. And THAT'S why people can't stand you here on BBI.
You don't have to be a loud voice to command the room. You can be soft spoken and say few words. I think most would say Wellington Mara commanded the room. When he spoke people listened. Belichick is the same. It isn't the volume of your voice but the presence you have. So, yeah, I'd say Belichick commands the room. His success speaks volumes.
With all of that said, we have no idea how Wilks compares to any of these other coaches in that area.
