Ok this is now officially a pet peeve of mine. There is no salary cap in baseball, what you are referring to is a luxury tax threshold. Every Yankees post with someone calling it a cap will now get a similar response.
It’s still not a cap though guys. There trying to reset their luxury tax penalty % on dollars they are above the luxury tax threshold, they will be back to going over next year if it means a big ticket item like Machado or Harper.
