Uh, oops? My sister lives in Hawaii, trying to get her take on this. Nothing like starting your weekend with a little adrenaline False Alarm - ( New Window )
My buddy said he was in his car packed and ready to go to the shelter when the cancellation came through (almost 40 minutes (!) after the first one).
What's really crazy to is that there was nothing online for people to look up so no one in HI knew where it was heading. The entire state thought it was in danger.
this afternoon and the girl sitting next to me got a phone call and burst into tears, turns out it was her sister in Hawaii who had just gotten the alert and was calling to say goodbye just in case...was a really moving scene.
on my couch when we got the alert. I live on the North Shore so there is really nowhere to go or not much you could do if there was a real attack. I texted my family as calls were not going through. I was contemplating cracking a beer as I had a cooler full of them and then we heard it was a fake.
Because that’s not a precedent someone wants set? Guy makes a big mistake, sure. Definitely a learing experience for everyone involved. But maybe not have the button to warn of a missile attack so easily accessed?

What does he have to do with this? Go fuck yourself.

What country did the good people of Hawaii think the missile was being launched from?

Um there was no thinking, just a mass warning saying a Ballistic Missle as on the way.
