Trade vets, string together 27-28 wins season this year and next and see where it ends up. Need to luck out and get a Top 3 pick each year. When you fall to 8, you reach for kids like Ntilkina who's ceiling is a decent rotation player, but certainly not anything more.
KP will not be seen until the start of the 2019-20 season, so just keep on sucking this year and next.

The team is still 5 years away from being a .500 team, so if you weren't around in 1973 when you they last won it - it doesn't matter if you are 4 or 44 - you won't this team ever win another title.

So much ignorance. You think this team can win more than 27-28 games this year and next? With what? As for Ntilkina - he will be decent, but not a star. Stop dreaming, and accept reality
How's the view with your head in the sand Keith? The team has sucked for almost 20 years, yet w/o Porzingis - all of a sudden they are going to be good? Next 2 years - high lottery picks - get it?
I’ve seen your best which is dogshit. You’ve speeed a lot of stupidity in such a short time. Well done.
Put down the pom-poms Keith. Are you really too stupid to see that the best player on the team is gone this year and next? But you already have him "coming back" and better than ever/ The silver lining you speak of is dogshit - but like I said - you are too dumb to figure this out.
You are talking out of your ass. He will be back in nov/dec the latest. You have no idea ntilikinas ceiling and KP will be more than a 12/5 guy. Just g away.
Knicks want a 1st or a good young player for Willy, if no deal they will trade oquinn for a 2nd
They're certainly not getting that for Willy after they sapped his value this first half of the season. Trade everything else that isn't nailed down in the next 39 hours.
NBA is weird, and sell offs can go that crazy I suppose...
That said, trading what amounts to nothing in Noah and getting a legit young starting defensive PG who's got solid O (weaknesses aside) and a Biyombo who is a younger Noah (loosely speaking). It would be inexplicable / highway robbery / very un-Knicksian / amazing
and assuming the Knicks shed someone, the Knicks could easily tank enough to end up with the 6th or 7th pick, plus the Bulls high second, the Clippers 2nd (Sixers option to swap that for the Knicks second) and whatever pick they get in a trade. At the first pick, the SI analysis has genuine high-level talent at least through the first ten picks.
Quote:
There’s DeAndre Ayton, who blends freak athleticism with a desirable modern-day skill set and sits No. 1 on our board. There’s Luka Doncic, the most accomplished international prospect ever. Marvin Bagley should be a high school senior right now, but has posted otherworldly numbers regardless. Mo Bamba is in the 99th percentile when it comes to defensive upside. The wild card is Michael Porter Jr., whose back injury is the only thing keeping him out of the top-three conversation at the moment. Keep going and there’s Trae Young, who’s having perhaps the most potent offensive season of any freshman point guard ever. Last year’s first round has proven wildly deep, but this one might have it beat on potential star power. The lack of movement atop this month’s draft board is a testament to that level of quality. Further down, Jaren Jackson has exhibited fast-track maturity and an enticing inside-out, two-way game. Kevin Knox could be scary as he figures out exactly who he is, while Mikal Bridges has made everything click in scary fashion. Wendell Carter is the freshman big who nobody’s giving enough credit.
Carter takes you through the top 10. The Knicks get can get a high-level 3 like Knox or Bridges at 8 or 9, and they need a 3. So, there will be talent wherever they pick, but it's hard to see them tanking enough to get to the top 4.
I still see Ntilikina getting a lot better and less injury-prone after a summer of bulking up and adding balance and explosiveness. He still has a kid's body right now. So who do they re-sign up front? Beasley? Kanter? Kanter may be more needed now with KP out so long. Beasley wants to come back, and his scoring will be needed. Maybe the Knicks get a discount.
although I really have my doubts about building around KP. He’s got big time durability issues. Positive #1. We will now see if we have the right people in Perry/Mills to lead this organization. The Melo deal gives me hope, they got 2 pretty good players from a weak negotiating position. Let’s see what they do with this horror show. #2 somewhat connected there can be no illusions about making the playoffs now. So their objectives for the organization are crystal clear. I don’t like the term or concept of “tanking”. I prefer developing young players who are not yet good enough to win much.
Guys like Willy, Dotson, Franklie, Burke need to play to see what they can grow into and see if they are part of the future. Guys like Jack and Lee are I inconsequential (except for trade) and Kanter has too many defensive limitations to win with. Trade him if possible. I would like to see Burke and Ntilikina on he floor together to see how that works. Frankie at 6-5 gives them defensive flexibility. These are the things that they should be focusing on. With luck KP should be back by X-mas but he probably won’t be pulling big minutes until late next season. So the next 3 years are laid out pretty clearly
they're talking to the magic about a Noah/Biyombo swap that somehow includes Elfrid Payton. Link - ( New Window )
Unless the Knicks are including picks or sweeteners, why would Orlando ever do that? Biyombo is better, younger and on a shorter contract. Payton sucks but he’s still young.
Tank hard. Trade Lee/ KOQ for whatever you can get. Young players, 2nd rounders, heavily protected future 1sts. Do it. Would you trade them for Roberson? I would.
Play Noah. Helps the tank and maybe you get a miracle and he resurrects his career and you dump him in the off-season.
Play Willy, Frank, Dotson big minutes. Sign some G league guys and see if you find a diamond in the rough. Another Covington.
The Knicks need to do all these things. Sadly I doubt they do any of it. Prove me wrong Scott Perry.
KP can't really develop any disgust with losing this next year or two. He will rehab. He will be back. And he likely won't give a shit that the Knicks win 28 games this season and next, maybe even less.
So we suck more balls once again but maybe, just maybe the Knicks can get two more good chips the next two drafts and then have a healthy and signed KP, 3-4 good young players alongside him and cap room in 2020.
just like when David Robinson went down and the Spurs were able to get Duncan. I know we cannot be bad enough to get a game changer like Duncan, but the point remains.
Unfortunately, it does not appear that the Knicks have that long term vision though, they are dead set on winning now.
is that he will miss a whole offseason of development.
Missing offseason conditioning and having the shaky knee will hurt his conditioning greatly. Something we were all hoping would get better. The worst part is his size though. I already was nervous everytime he landed on one leg. He is so lanky. Also, will his knee be able to take on adding weight which he needs to do. Geez what a mess this is.
Really sucks
Tank and get another star to go with kp
Tank and get another star to go with kp
Keeping the vets might be the best wAy to tank. Play Jack and Thomas 40 minutes a game
KP will finally rest
A big mans knee heals better then a big mans foot.
This sucks though, but I expect Kp to recover..
But idk. I don't start him until atleast January 2019 earliest. Let him take his time.
He says pleminary talks is Payton and Bismarck for noah
KP will not be seen until the start of the 2019-20 season, so just keep on sucking this year and next.

Why are they looking to trade willy? No chance they trade kanter, which they should. They need to be shopping everyone!

Idea that coach already despises dolans and is just flipping through his cards.

See if you can get anything for Lee, OQuinn but keep Willy. The way they've handled him this season is borderline criminal.
