Are we playing a game of cat and mouse? Am I mistaken that we haven't put in a request for interviewing Stefanski?
Could we possibly be waiting to see if someone's contract like Duce Staley's contract expires in the next few days? That is purely an assumption on my part. I don't know when his contract expires.
This staff already seems to keep everything quiet until it isn't quiet anymore. So, they may have put in a request that we don't know about yet but I wonder if they want to interview another candidate or 2 before committing to Stefanski.
Plus, we have a QB position open. Maybe there is the thought that DeFilippo may hire his own QB coach and hence leave Stefanski out of a job (very unlikely) and then he could be brought on here as a QB coach.
It is just a curious situation. I don't mind them taking their time but on the surface it seems they aren't doing much when something was expected after the Super Bowl.
Our beat writers suck. That's the problem. They didn't break the Gettleman hire and they literally haven't broken a single coaching hire since Gettleman has been here. Pay attention to Rapoport, La Canfora & Alex Marvez. Those 3 have broken the hiring of our new GM, HC, DC and all of our position coaches.
To read that the beat reporters "suck" because they are not getting inside scoops is hilarious. I am not a fan of reporters in general, but in this case, I can't criticize them for lack of information. I would rather the beat reporters are silent for lack of inside information, than to make stuff up like Meyers does. Pathetic reporter.
For those complaining about lack of accurate information, i offer these thoughts. Would you rather have silence followed by solid organizational activities, or transparent intentions that are foiled by outsiders who preempt the team and deny the intended action? Think back to previous drafts and how the desires of the team were fairly well known and were ultimately denied because competitors knew the Giants intentions and took actions that hurt the Giants.
A little organizational secrecy is a good thing and make the team much more competitive for competing in coaching hires, free agency and the draft. Game days too.
I understand that we, as fans, want to know what is going on. We will. In time. Relax and enjoy.
Advanced information is a fan and media desire, not a "right" or an "entitlement". Until the team releases the information, we will suffer through opinion reported as fact or inside scoops, that may be pure fiction to generate media clicks and market share.
The Giants are finally being handled in a more competitive manner.

Absolutely this is a better way.

One of my biggest frustrations from past management was the transparency. It will be nice not having everyone know our pick 6 weeks before the draft
