We tend to always look at the highlights and amazing plays of QBs (and other positions). Mark Schofield does a series on the interceptions the QBs have made in 2017. He goes into significant depth on each play. They are a long watch, but educational. I learned things about each QB and about QB decision making in general.

As he goes through the 2nd INT, he criticizes Darnold's footwork not being set properly, but fails to mention the RG completely whiffing on the block and immediate pressure to Darnold's right, which Darnold feels. Obviously an INT isn't ideal, especially on a first down play, but sometimes you need to deliver the football without an ideal platform when you are about to get hit. In this case, Darnold did not have time to set his feet, as it would've resulted in a sack. That's a tough criticism of Darnold there. More of a criticism of the RG and a good defensive play by the WMU DT.

Funny how depending on who we talk about there are different views. Not denying what you mentioned but Eli was under pressure the whole year which caused him to rush throws since he couldn't get his feet set. Yet in his case people said its because he is getting old and has no mobility.
In any case if you wan't to see Darnold at his worse you can watch a replay of the ND game this year.
Don't want this to devolve into an Eli debate, but Eli made poor throws with protection, often. He made poor throws when protection wasn't there as well. He didn't play well, bottom line, and the OL wasn't the entirety of the reason.

I dunno, Jim. With the Oline not even giving Eli 3 freegin' seconds, over time you can get a case of happy feet or a sense of urgency to force something to happen. I'm in the camp that hasn't seen Eli decline yet but I sure see the results of a turd Oline. David Carr, Andrew Luck and others have seen this derail a career. (However I do feel that the Giants should take a QB at #2 if they like the guy.)
