Our beat writers have been terrible since the end of the season. Got scooped by La Canfora on Gettleman & Shurmur. They've been scooped by mainstream media all offseason. Between La Canfora, Alex Marvez & Rapoport our writers haven't broken a single hire. They're 0 for 13.
Gets a lot of heat for that SB call (Pete Carroll said the call was on himself) yet the rest of his career is completely overlooked.
He's the guy who stuck his nose out for Russ. Who he then developed into one of the best QBs in the NFL. Also one of the best QBs in NFL history through his first 6 seasons.
The Seahawks O was good for a while with UDFAs like Doug Baldwin & Jermaine Kearse. Recently they've been worse but that's because they let a very good WR (Golden Tate), Pro Bowl RB (Marshawn) go for no return. The GM has done a horrible job trying to find offensive players. The attempt at fixing the offensive lineman & RBs has been pathetic. Their WRs are average players at best. Yet they still finished 15th in yards and 11th in PPG.
Not giving the ball to the Lynch on the half yard line to win the SB, because he had issue with Lynch and did not want him to win SB MVP is inexcusable.

Except a lot of reports say that is incorrect. Amazing how people definitively know things.

Actually, that's not true - but if you think it is - tell me why you would want an OC who made the DUMBEST call in SB history coaching for our team? If you think it's not true - why did they call that play? I'm listening

The again - you would sign Bill Buckner as a late inning defensive replacement, Nick Anderson to put on the court late and ice games from the FT line, etc. If you really think Bevill is the BEST the Giants can do right after he got canned - can't help you there.
That call was 100% Pete Carroll. Even the Seahawks players have said this.
And Giant player defended McAdoo - what do you expect? Carroll took a bullet for Beveille, and players followed. But if you think that's what happened - please explain the call. Defend it - own it - tell us it was smart - go..

The interest in Bevell was mentioned on Twitter by MSM days ago.

Beveille? That's not even an autocorrect. Read more, write less.
The truth of tha after is it was Russell Wilsons fault Â
Yup! Pete Carroll called the play and Russell Wilson threw a horrible pass. Ricardo Lockette did a horrible job also. So that play was the fault of 3 different people. Darrell Bevell wasn't one of them.
the best argument against Bevell is that, if Shurmur ever gives up play-calling duties, every single non-positive offensive play is going to be scrutinized by the know-nothings around here who already think bad play-calling and bad play-execution are synonymous.
already stated that he was going to call plays is making the job less attractive? Is it possible that the Vikings "denied" permission to Stefanski because he doesn't want the job and doesn't want to be in the position of interviewing and saying "no?" If the Giants offense suddenly turns around this year, how much credit will the OC get when it is clearly Shurmur's offense that he is personally directing? What if there is no guarantee they will draft a QB at #2 so you won't even get credit for developing a young superstar?
This is nothing but my own speculation, but just wondering if this is limiting the appeal of the job?

Easy enough to settle...show us your proof. Otherwise, shut your pie hole.
Why are we discussing his play calling g if he isn’t going to call Â

Proof of the dumbest call in NFL history - defending Beville. if he pulled this with the Giants, you would be annihilating the guy. 2-face idiot

Those know-nothings are going to do it regardless of who's calling the plays. We could have Vince Lombardi calling plays and still they would bitch. They're such experts it makes you wonder why they aren't coaching in the NFL. Of course, it has nothing to do with the fact that they rarely, if ever, know what they are talking about.

Ranaan is pretty good, but sometimes I feel like he’s got an agenda. I do think he’s the best beat though

It's posts like this that make BBI look really really bad. You wouldn't have the balls to say this to him in real life.
No thanks.

1 bad call (that you aren’t even sure was his) and just discount the rest? Alrighty.

Marshawn Lynch's mom called him horrible. That's enough for me.

Wasn't just a bad call - 20 seconds left, 1 TO, half yard line, and you throw a pass. But it's just a "bad call? Yea - right - nothing to see there.

They're both from the Reid tree. Bevell was OC under Childress in Minnesota before he went to Seattle.

He threw a terrible pass. It was not placed where it should be. It was not placed where only his guy could catch it.
The ball was thrown to his right shoulder when it should have been thrown to his left shoulder.
It is Russell Wilsons fault.

Because that is the only thing some posters know about Bevell and they would rather look like they know something than actually know something.
