NFT: Knicks Chat: Mudiay looked good!

DanMetroMan : 2/12/2018 7:36 am
-It was one game but Mudiay was very, very impressive! I'm not saying he's a future star but he looked smooth and overall a very nice debut.

-THjr... 29 minutes 1 rebound?

-Frank looked solid along side Mudiay

-The Knicks are going to lose many games

Just because he can jump doesn't mean he can stay in front of a quality NBA 3 when he has to guard them on the perimeter. Look around the NBA... there aren't many teams playing 6-7 4's the majority of the time. You might end up being right and I might be wrong. I'm just not willing to bet a vitally important lottery pick on Miles Bridges doing that.
he did, but it was after the deadline...

like over the weekend. Plus it was a concussion so he prolly wont be out that long (that said Kris dunn was out weeks with his).

should be released to join a playoff team. Mentor? Please. He's done he's job. Howard Eisley and Hornacek can handle this.

Why release him now? He might as well ride the bench while teaching up the new guy and helping Frank adjust to getting more playing time.

Because the moron coach will likely be tempted to play him if they struggle and the roster spot might be better served cycling in some younger options.

Well, I'd give him the choice. Ride the bench and mentor the kids or we can release you and you can try and catch on somewhere else, perhaps as a bench guy on a playoff team.

I don't see him as a guy that might be poisonous to the locker room, so there's little risk from him.

You're right to worry about Hornacek, though. But, I suspect he's been his given marching orders.

So if the Knicks pick 8-10, which seems likely...

what is wrong with Knox? He's not even 19, so should improve as he matures. From SI:

Quote:
The Knicks biggest area of need is on the the wing, where they could use a versatile player to complement Kristaps Porzingis and Frank Ntilikina. An upside play makes sense with the timeline of their core, and Knoxs scoring ability, three-point shooting potential and ability to play either forward spot makes him a projectable fit. Hes made noticeable strides over the course of the season, particularly with his on-court approach, and has a lot of room to grow as he develops his ball-handling, works on his body and starts to unlock his versatility.

Last 5 games, he's 10 for 24 from the three--.417
Hate to judge a guy off one game
bceagle05 : 2/12/2018 2:27 pm : link
but I was watching the Kentucky/Texas A&M game the other night and Knox - along with the rest of his teammates - was getting out-hustled up and down the floor. I was reading up on his scouting reports a bit and "motor" has been a red flag. I'd be a little worried about that, but he's certainly a worthy pick in the 8-10 range. Knox and the Bridges boys, and I wouldn't rule out Sexton either, especially if Frank transitions into more of a 3&D player.

I hate trying to project Kentucky players because calipari has guys play a certain role and that is it...

Look at Kat, nobody knew he had range because he never.showed it in college...

Somebody needs to bang this guy on the head.

Again, Perry/Mills need to go to him that his job depends on the development of young players.

We should be seeing very little of Lance Thomas, Courtney Lee, Jarret Jack, Michael Beasley and Kyle O'Quinn.

Is it cause they feel they don't have what it takes "between the ears" to be more successful? I think the same could be said for Mudiay..

I don't think they wanted anything..

And let's be honest spoelstra makes Riley look very good as an exec
Hornacek is starting jack and thomas on a losing team
nygiants16 : 2/12/2018 3:26 pm : link
Refusing to start the young kids, meanwhile a title contender is starting a rookie in osman...

Unbelievable how moronic this coach is...

Claims changes will come after all star break, make changes now, jack does nothing on the court...

Last night with mudiay and Frank in the game the Knicks outscored the pavers 43 34
Popovich benched Tony Parker
nygiants16 : 2/12/2018 3:33 pm : link

And hornacek can not bench Jarrett freaking jack or lance Thomas?
The good news is Jack was down to eight minutes last night.
bceagle05 : 2/12/2018 3:39 pm : link
It was just the wrong eight minutes.

As for Lance, I give up. He does not belong in an NBA rotation, much less a starting lineup. If we build a playoff team in the next few years, I will refer to the period preceding it as a the "Lance Thomas Years," much the same way Yankee fans have the "Horace Clark Years."

How much you want to bet we don't see mudiay and Frank together tonight?

You know it is funny, I used to hate Jared jefferies but he waa actually a good defender...

What does lance Thomas do to deserve minutes? I honestly would love for hornacek to explain this and don't tell me he is a good defender..
Stop.

You know why I hate lance more? Because at least with jefferies he knew he sucked on offense and didn't try to do more...

Lance thinks he is a good offensive player taking wild runners and looking off better shooters for his own shot..

I can't stand when he gets the ball and instead of swinging it he pump fakes and tries to drive..

Mudiay and Frenchie might help us win.
Carl in CT : 2/12/2018 3:58 pm : link
So if we are tanking, let them start Lance. We will be down be 15 and lose like we need too. As long as the kids get minutes Im ok.
I get furious whenever anyone passes the ball to Lance.
bceagle05 : 2/12/2018 3:59 pm : link
Frank's the biggest culprit. Might as well just throw it out of bounds - Lance's heel is usually out of bounds anyway when he catches a pass along the sideline.
Jeffries was among the worst
Enzo : 2/12/2018 4:02 pm : link
finishers at the rim I ever saw. He made Charles Smith look like Charles Barkley. He was mostly awful aside from a decent run his second time around with the team during the Linsanity season where he added some value on the defensive end. Which was also I think the only above average season this team has had defensively in like forever.

Ok fine, I'll accept this.

I hated Jeffries so much. I have never seen a guy as big as he is NEVER finish around the rim. He was brutal.
One thing I admired about jefferies
nygiants16 : 2/12/2018 4:24 pm : link
He knew his limitations, he only took shots when he absolutely had to..

He always tried to find the open guy or set a pick for a scorer, he was not afraid to be the scrappy player on the court..

Lance Thomas thinks he is a good player, dude switches on everything, horrible rebounder, and if he is open he is taking the shot, he is not looking for the open guy..

Instead of setting a pick for a scorer he will come over and ask for the ball then fake giving it back and drive...

If they gave the fans one vote on who to cut from your favorite team I am pretty sure lance would be a unanimous vote
