With Fox Sports covering the draft for the first time, what would you like to see them do that would make it better than what ESPN and the NFL Network do?
Apparently Fox is producing the show but using NFL Network people. NFL has put Fox in charge of the details and how those talking heads will be deployed.

None of the usual "everything for everybody" bs. Just football.
Stick around, I'll be yelling at clouds later.
We are talking about FOX here, that is not going to happen.
Even though technically, they don’t spoil the pick anymore, i’d like to see them just cut right to the commish and not even “guess” who the pick is. Keep it suspenseful.
but, the time between draft picks is still to long IMO. I know some of it might be there to see if anybody wants to make a trade but, still ... boring.
I feel like I love football as much as anyone, but man, watching the draft has never appealed to me.
It's boring as hell.
It's one of the most boring sport events ever. You can see the boredom even on guys like Mayock and Kiper the longer it goes the more painful it gets listening to them.
I don't think it's fixable unless they cut the time per pick in half for all rounds.
Don’t go to commercial during the pick.
Before the pick discuss the possible options and get opinions from the former scouts now tv people.
After the pick show the highlights of the player selected. Have scouts dissect some film study of both positives and negatives plays of the player.
Don’t talk about politics. Or non football current events.
You either like this event or you don't. They are trying to make it have mass appeal and aside from the folks in the host city, only the real football nerds like the entire process. They added too much everyday Joe junk and stretched it out to maximize revenue, which screws everyday Joe because now he's more confused and it makes nerds like me wish they'd hurry up and do it in 2 days like the old days. There is a butt ton of stuff to do and watch on various platforms, what these people need to do is create loyalty among the hardcore and cater to that rather than trying to maximize revenue by watering it down, thus reducing your hardcores.
I have watched every round since as long as I can remember, and I don't care where it is, what soldier is making the pick or whose momma is in the green room with the worst outfit on. I want to see clips of these guys, hear REAL takes from teammates, scouts, coaches, opposing players and not constant fellating by the talking heads and discussion of what a team "should" do with the pick. Analyze the player, show us who is he and what he can do and leave it at that. That will never happen, so my answer remains, nothing really because what makes it better for me won't for the drooling masses they want to tune in.
I know its a league decision but I think they should do rounds 1 and 2 the first night, first team on the clock 7:05. It will go longer no doubt but it'll be on FOs to be ready for more changes based on other teams moves. And first round picks may create lots of trades for round 2 slot jockeying.
Really don't need as much feel good PR as they do. We follow football, understand the owners, players, the League, give back to the community. Not saying eliminate, but do fewer. Also it gives advantage/ extra time, to the next team u to decide or get offers than us he teams before or after have.

Mel has been better in recent drafts. Apparently after the Frank Caliendo spoof Mel watched some of his recent work and realized that he needed to dial it back
Don’t go to commercial

When the giants are on the clock about to pick
OMG! How many times did we wait for the Giant pick to come up, and bang, commercials....commentary was just an afterthought when they came back from commercial, and the next pick took precedence right away.....
The Twitter scoops are because the picks are announced on time. The problem is in how long it takes the commissioner (day 1) and then everyone else announcing the picks (days 2 and 3) to actually get to the mic and read the name. The big football insiders have already gotten the name from their sources by then. I don't think it's a problem that the broadcast is causing or can fix, to be honest.
Don't think there will be many major differences. I've leaned toward the NFLN broadcast in recent years because the team of Mayock, Jeremiah, and Shaw is far superior IMO. Looks like Herbstreit will replace Gruden on the ESPN broadcast, meh.
each team drafting gets discussed for half of the time leading up to the pick. After the pick half that time is spent talking about the player picked and the potential impact he will have on the team that drafted him. Then move to the next team. No BS. Save a few minutes here and there for the exceptional unique back story that warrants time.
I feel like I love football as much as anyone, but man, watching the draft has never appealed to me.

Agreed. If I am home and there is nothing else I am doing, I may gravitate to the coverage every now and then just to try to see the Giants pick (more for the commentary that follows). But, I don't make any plans around the draft, especially not dragging it out for 4 days now.
FOX is already operating at a position of strength Â

Strongly disagree. When they used to have the draft over the weekend on Sat/Sun, I would get together with a bunch of guys for a BBQ/draft day party. We loved it, always looked forward to that Saturday. The NFL ruined it.

More Frank Caliendo and Rob Riggle

Doesn’t seem like to much to ask for.
