That's how they've been making their draft decisions for years.

Could be Milton but I would be amazed if they don't take Barkley#1 then go Allen or Mayfield at 4. Unless Of course the Giants take Allen then they go automatically go Mayfield.
If we don't take him
Mark from Jersey : 3/4/2018 8:44 pm : link

Morris - 2nd rd
Hampton - bottom 1st rd
Anderson - acquired in trade
Bradshaw - 7th rd
Barber - 2nd rd
Jacobs - 4th rd

In no way am I taking anything away from Barkley because he looks great, but this sort of proves you can find a good to great RB much easier than a QB.

That's the problem if you're the Browns. You'd be stuck with Mayfield.

Who needs to break tackles when you can do this..
Boylhart compares him to Franco Harris when it comes to contact

Saquan looks to be a power running back but plays more like a third down running back on every down avoiding unnecessary hits instead of looking for impact. This will turn some of the macho coached teams off from selecting Saquon early.
Quote:
Years ago the Steelers had a big back by the name of Franco Harris. Most people complained that because of his size, Franco should have been a stronger inside runner. He played running back for 12 years because of his theory of not taking unnecessary contact. Saquon runs very much like Franco, eliminating unnecessary contact and it makes him look like he is soft but the truth is, he is smart.
Quote:
Franco Harris played for 12 years because he believed in not taking unnecessary hits. He went to 4 super bowls and 9 pro bowls and every year media and coaches would criticize him for being “soft”. In fact I bet you can still find people that will say he was good but he played soft and could have been better. Then again he played for 12 years…Think about that.

Barkley breaks tackles
UberAlias : 3/5/2018 8:40 am : link
But usually the arm tackle sort. He's not a punishing runner who runs through you. For reference, here's Leonard Fornette. There is also some poor tape on him as a blocker so you want him to clean that up too.

He's a dynamic player who would make NYG a lot better, but he's not a perfect prospect. Right now I put him in that Fornette, Elliot, Gurley level. It remains to be seen if he's better --but right now, to my eyes, that's mostly a matter of preference based on what type of back your system calls for.

Judging on where those other guys went, and the quality of depth at the RB position this year, I'm not sold on Barkley's value at #2.
