NFT: Black Mirror Renewed for Season 5

Astorian : 3/6/2018 1:29 pm
I'm just finishing up season 4 now and I'm incredibly happy that Black Mirror will be coming back. Such a disturbing and thought-provoking show.

Amazing, but disturbing. The Callister episode was fantastic. So thought provoking. I mistakenly made it the last thing I watched before hitting the sack...so of course...the whole thing was running through my mind...so much to think about and such a cool concept.

GREAT! Now a season 5! Even Better....with a snowstorm on the horizon! LOL
About 2/3 of the episodes are great

and much better than the twilight zone (which I compare them to).

Sometimes I have to turn them off and go back to finish them later.
This show was my favorite thing coming from

The Netflix family of shows. The first three seasons were awesome and I think it was due to the fact it wasnít overly popular. The actors were relative unknowns and the funding appeared to be on a smaller scale. This recent season was good but a little disappointing. They kind of went big with better known actors and funding. Iím hoping it doesnít become too big and start trying too hard by getting away from its roots. Great show for the most part though.
I didn't think they would be able to top San Junipero

But USS Callister comes pretty darn close... I was one of the people who thought Jesse Plemons was Matt Damon:p
There were plenty of well known actors in seasons 1-3

Jon, Hamm, Kelly Macdonald, Domhnall Gleeson, Toby Kemmel, Alice Eve, Mackenzie Davis, etc...

Well maybe for someone like me that doesnít watch a lot of movies or television they werenít well known. It just seems like they are gunning for a big production budget style show instead of creative and small budget. Just my opinion and I didnít say I hated the season but it had some signs they were going that direction, if you ask me.
What is the appeal of San Junipero?

I couldn't get through the first 15 minutes. It was such a snooze. What am I missing?

Agreed. That was arguably my least liked episodes. Interesting enough concept but it didnít appeal to me. But thatís one of the great things about the show. Each episode appeals to different viewers for various reasons such as age, culture, station in life, etc...

The episode that sat with me most and messed with my head was the episode where the people are blackmailed by hackers that use their cameras to record them in compromising positions. Dear lord, that was disturbing.

Maybe, I didn't notice any big change in production... It's definitely caught on via word of mouth... I know a lot of people couldnt get past season 1, episode 1 and i get that...

But as far as going for more big name actors in season 4, all of those actors that I listed from seasons 1-3 have starred in major feature films and/or a hit TV series...
Why bother with a show
UConn4523 : 3/6/2018 10:52 pm : link
if you are only going to give it 15 minutes?

San Junipiero is a work of art. One of the best episodes of tv of all time.
Completely agree that each episode has it's own appeal...

San Junipero had some hope to it, which is a change of pace for the series... Plus, I totally want to be uploaded to the cloud in mid 80s :p
I guess the first episode this season affected my

Judgement. It was almost like a movie. Lasted almost as long as your average theater movie and had some noticeable actors to me. To each their own though. And I can totally understand why some people decided not to watch after season 1 episode 1. I initially had my doubts after that episode too. But I guess it was a good ďlead off hitterĒ so to speak. Really grabbed the viewers attention haha.
