The Giants don't control the draft...

Especially if they want Barkley and the Browns take him at #1.
That article throws cold water on the "Kings Ransom"

Trade down some are dreaming about
If Barkley isn't taken 1st

You grab him. If the Browns take him, we will be getting lots of offers

Doesn't mean it can't happen. Moving down 2 spots is not too far to miss out on a great blue chip player while picking up extra picks. NYG could still take a QB, Chubb, Nelson, Fitzpatrick....it is all about the compensation. The " make me an offer I can't refuse " might include a 2019 1st round pick to sweeten the deal.

Again, think in terms of what Cleveland may want to do in this draft. They need a QB more than we do yet many think they will take Barkley and wait until 4 to pick the QB. I really don't see that happening. I think with all the ammo that Cleveland has with draft picks and salary cap, they can buy free agents to fill holes on their roster but they should want to come out of this draft with the best player ( Barkley ) and their preferred QB to develop. I can see them signing AJ McCarron as the bridge QB until their new young QB is ready.

If NYG can net pick 4, 33,35 the 4th rounder and a 1st round pick next year....Gettlemen would be insane not to do it unless he is in love with 2 players and would be happy to have either one.

+1
Don't agree with this at all...

[quote]It would hardly be surprising if Gettleman saw the players at the top of this draft and didn't feel some combination of second- and third-round picks were enough to warrant him moving down the draft board and risking his blue-chip guys coming off before he actually picks. {/quote}

2nd and 3rd picks? Please...
Either way,
Keith : 3/7/2018 11:26 am : link
I don't know how Cleveland doesn't control the draft with the 1 and 4 picks and players all over that fit their needs.
Clearly Cleveland controls the draft, not NYG
UberAlias : 3/7/2018 11:29 am : link
That's obvious.
Agreed
George : 3/7/2018 1:14 pm : link
This is Cleveland's draft to bungle.

How many guys are on the first row of their Board and their perceived distance to the second row.

If they have a conviction on only three guys as future HOF, they won't trade down.
Great article

Thanks for sharing.
Not saying it will happen but,

This has a nice ring to it ...

"Chubb's not some oversized bear -- he's just the best pass rusher in this draft by a substantial amount and, arguably, the best player in the draft.
Put him in a rotation with Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon and suddenly the Giants are recreating exactly what helped them
win a pair of Super Bowls, by generating a ton of pass rush off the edge."
Hard not to see that

the Browns control the draft not the Giants. Never remember a team with so many options. Tough to F///k this up but we will see.
