an Rapoport Verified account @RapSheet 3m3 minutes ago #Seahawks CB Richard Sherman has told teammates goodbye over the past 24 hours, sources say, and that he won’t be on the team. Those close to him say nothing is set in stone and there has been no official word. But clearly bears watching. |
$13M cap hit with $11M in cap savings.
If the Giants can't afford him, maybe cut DRC and bring in Sherman as a safety instead.
He's got good size, good ball skills, his coverage probably slipped a little (I assume), and he's a willing/good tackler.
He and Collins at safety with Jenkins and Apple (or other) at CB is a nice starting 4. Plus Sherman is obviously versatile enough if the Giants have another good safety, to slide in a slot corner.
I'd have to really be convinced that he still had the same burst to consider it.
Excellent in run support, btw.
I’ll get my popcorn.
They need a CB, Butler is a goner. General feeling is Solder is a goner also; they only have $13M, up to $30M with cuts cap space.
Sign RS, play BB trade game and get a better spot and grab a LT and let Scharnecchia work his magic?
