Is just like ever other positions on this team they lack talent. The top guys at the combine will be gone by the fourth round but there are some late round big bodies that could easily make this team. Ian Thomas looked like someone in the fourth but with the trade it’s hard to see him getting to the 5th. Jordan Thomas 6-5, 265, 4.74 is another real big body still trying to figure out the TE position but the upside is intriguing hopefully very late or UDFA, did have a decent combine.

I swear, every post I read of yours is worse than the last.
Did Evan Engram not just have a very good rookie year? So he's not a two-way TE.. big deal. Most guys aren't.
Look at what Zach Ertz has done for the Eagles.
Look at how KC uses Kelce.
The TE position is changing in this league and we have one of the better young talents there.
What you guys call 'needs'. To many needs for premium picks (linesmen both sides, lbs, RBs, dbs) to spend any really high picks on receivers or receiving positions (other than RB) ...and yet we already have a very dynamic #2 piece in E.E.
In addition, two TE sets being a run threat first play action monster, you do need two that legit run block. Not sure if EE graded out so well in that vs DEs or Sam's what have you. Vs dbs, certainly though.
I would grab a top two way TE if one is there at the right spot, yes.
And move E.E. all over positionally as a match up nightmare.
Within a trade down scenario additional picks.
folks shouldn't drink before posting. As I posted yesterday, TE is Â
maybe the only position that Reese upgraded last year with both star potential and depth. That McAdoosh didn't use it is an indictment of him, not the players
One at a time on the field. Even the big nose DT types. It's also a falsehood that one should only have one good one in a roster even when only fielding one at a time.
(And E.E. is very good and very useful player but it's almost a different position as opposed to your traditional run and pass blocking '+' TE.)
Same fans will completely reverse their logic for certain positions, saying 'if it's BPA draft the player regardless of need'and flip back again for others. For great true old school block / catch TEs ...same applies,.
Finally, TE is part of the run blocking situation....E.E is a run block threat vs dbs more so than he is vs big D linesmen. Work the match ups. Think about our very anemic run game last year with lots of EE at in line.
Lastly. Keep Dallas from getting a new one ...by drafting the player ourselves, as Whitten is old as the hills and they will grab a great one to terrorize us for the next 14 years.
I think having three useful tight ends on the roster isn't a bad idea. Â
Engram and Ellison are a good combo. Adams is useless.
Id like to see them bring in a serviceable third tight end. Maybe a developmental guy like they had in Matt Lacosse (who I think was a mistake to let go in favor of one of Reeses draft toys) or an older veteran. This is probably a position that will be filled by a UDFA or late round pick later in the year.
Adams is a serviceable 3rd TE too. He made some plays last year. I think TE might be the least of our offensive worries.
We have an excellent pass catching TE and an excellent blocking TE.
Where is a 3rd TE going to slot in and which guy is he going to play over?
Eifert's back is wrecked - I wouldn't touch him.
Martellus Bennett I'd probably pass on at this point.
There's no one in the FA pool who is a better receiving TE than Engram and Ellison is better than the guys who are more in-line blockers
I guess we could draft one, but why? We have much more pressing needs.
Our TE group is one of the few that I think we can stand PAT on and be fine.
I will always love this gif. Makes me laugh every time.
Ellison is a good two way TE with knowledge of Shurmur's offense. Hes a much better fit inline especially with the state of the OL.
Adams has potential. He's a solid backup.
If we add to the position it will be a cheap vet on min or a late/udfa for competition.

It could happen....like winning the lottery....

TE, wideout, slot, hback depending and even while we are in 12 ,(technically 13 maybe, fine) personnel.
E.E. would nearly always be on the field, but if you want to run past the edge out of 12p you bring 2x classic 260+ lbTEs.
As I said, before the cowholders get him.
Never say never best player available ?
