feel he will win again - including Jack Nicklaus (but what would he know?).

If Phil can win a 47 with bad arthritis, Tiger can win as long as that back stays.

BTW, had a friend that played in a Pro-Am with Tiger and he is concerned that the young guys are out driving him - which is a bad thing. If he dwells on distance (despite the fact he is consistently over 310 yards) that will cause him to overswing or try to tweak clubs.

Distance doesn't appear to be a problem for him so far. His drive on #5 went 321 - longest of the day for anyone on that hole.
Great chip there!

Amazing hands.
Can't stand Tiger...
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 3/10/2018 2:51 pm : link
But golf is much more compelling when he's in the hunt.
Tap in birdie at #5
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 2:53 pm : link
Tiger now 6-under - 3 shots back of the lead. Leader Corey Connors is on fire, though - has three birdies so far.
Nearly holes a long chip at #6
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 3:03 pm : link
Tap in par. Still at 6-under.
Par at #7
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 3:18 pm : link
Still 3 back.
Leader Corey Connors has dropped two shots in his last two holes
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 3:30 pm : link
So he's back to 7-under, putting Tiger and a handful of others only a shot back.
Tiger with a shot!
djm : 3/10/2018 3:40 pm : link
..beauty!
Tiger flops a chip out of the rough at #8
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 3:42 pm : link
and roles it in 30 feet for Birdie. Tied with Connors at 7-under, and also Snedeker who also birdied #8.
Another birdie bombed in at #10
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 3:53 pm : link
Tiger to 8-under, tied with Connors for the lead.
On #11, Tiger's going to have about 8 feet
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 4:05 pm : link
for his third birdie in a row. Would give him sole possession of the lead.
Misses the birdie putt
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 4:09 pm : link
stays at 8-under.
Misses the birdie putt
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 4:10 pm : link
stays at 8-under.
Tiger lips out a birdie putt at 12
PhiPsi125 : 3/10/2018 4:21 pm : link
Bad luck...one shot behind the lead.
Best ball striking from him
section125 : 3/10/2018 4:30 pm : link
I've seen in many, many years...the improvement since Riviera is astonishing.
Tiger drops a shot at #13
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 4:31 pm : link
Now 7-under, two back. Justin Rose leapfrogs him into 2nd place.
Actually, now 3 back of the lead
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 4:32 pm : link
Connors makes another birdie to go to 10-under.
Tiger nearly holes a 50-foot eagle put at #14
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 4:51 pm : link
Drains the birdie to get his shot back. Now 8-under again.
Not a good ending here for Connors
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 3/10/2018 5:31 pm : link
.
Tiger pars #18
BlackLight : 3/10/2018 5:43 pm : link
to finish with a 67. Will probably miss the final pairing tomorrow. Will like be one shot back for the start of the final round.
Man, I really can’t understand why there is so much interest in

Yeah it’s really stupid when I read people saying that. The ratings bump and crowds are all the evidence needed that plenty of people have an interest.

It’s must see tv tomorrow.
I was a big Tiger fan
pjcas18 : 3/10/2018 6:32 pm : link
heard some funny stories from his Stanford days from a former colleague of mine who was at Stanford with Tiger and Greg Comella (ex-Giant from Wellesley MA) - they had a one or two year overlap.

I think calling him El Tigre sounds kind of juvenile, but whatever, arguing Tiger, who revolutionized the game and almost singlehandedly was responsible for the golf boom of the 00's is irrelevant is a silly argument.
Also not a fan of calling anyone a name that isn’t theirs
UConn4523 : 3/10/2018 6:49 pm : link
El Tigre, Big Pali, etc. they are awful.
Eldrick is listed as 9/4 to win the tournament tomorrow

at the Westgate sportsbook.
Interesting
JPinstripes : 3/10/2018 7:54 pm : link
Tiger Woods: club head speed measured at 129.2 MPH on 14th hole (fastest swing recorded by any player on PGA Tour this season).

I agree but is El Tigre a thing? I though it was just some random dude on BBI making a thread about Tiger. Much ado about nothing.

The entire media and MLB referring to David Ortiz/Arias as “Big Papi” is effing stupid. How the media fellates over that moron is one of life’s great mystical.

Years and years ago, "El Tigre" was what Tiger was being called by one of the anchors on Sportscenter during his golf highlights.

But I won't have it said that I'm upsetting people. We will take UConn4523's suggestion and only refer to Eldrick by his given name from now on.

If anyone flouts this rule, I'll report them and see that they're banned.
I’m just busting balls
UConn4523 : 3/10/2018 10:08 pm : link
but I’d never actually say “el Tigre”. Sounds awful but have fun.
Lol, you gotta chill Black Light.
PhiPsi125 : 3/10/2018 10:20 pm : link
The name Tiger will do just fine...or whatever you want to call him. Really not a big deal.

Will save par. Still 2 shots back of Casey (who's on #17).
Casey the new clubhouse leader at 10-under
BlackLight : 3/11/2018 4:38 pm : link
A 65.
The quality of Tiger's game right now
BlackLight : 3/11/2018 4:49 pm : link
is about a half-notch lower than it needs to be to win this tournament. Six holes left, but not many birdie opportunities unless he's willing to take risks.
Tiger will have a chance to birdie #14
BlackLight : 3/11/2018 5:00 pm : link
and he needs it.
Only manages a par at #14
BlackLight : 3/11/2018 5:06 pm : link
Needs to go 2-under over the final four holes to force a playoff.
Made it very exciting at the end
dpinzow : 3/11/2018 5:55 pm : link
Made a 44 footer at 17 to give himself a chance, and just missed a 39 footer to force a playoff. Overall a great tournament for tiger
