NGT: Bills sign Owa per Schefter

bigblue12 : 3/8/2018 5:54 pm
Bills have signed DE Owa Odighizuwa to a one-year contract.
I wonder if he値l even make their roster
RobCarpenter : 3/8/2018 5:55 pm : link
Yet another swing and a miss by Reese/Ross.
Why?
The 12th Man : 3/8/2018 6:03 pm : link
The only reason I can fathom to sign this guy was to bring him in to show the others DE's what not to do.

Also feels like a bit revisionist because I clearly recall BBI clamoring for Reese to pick Owa as early as the second round that year. I know I was pretty excited about the pick at the time.
BBI was enamored with Owa

And widely applauded the pick.

Right after drafting Ereck Flowers with the #9 overall pick. What a genius huh?
Dude was a huge bust

I doubt he makes it out of Training Camp.

What about drafting Beckham? Show me the GM that hasn't screwed up a 1st round pick.

Yeah. If Reese/Ross only screwed up *a* 1st round pick, they would both still be here.

the fuck? Really ? Lets break this down

Flowers was a presumed top 10 pick at that time, Giants fans were in love with the signing when it was made. He was a massive Ol from Miami with a mean streak. Every fan was salivating over the pick so dont act like you weren't.

Unfortunately he was forced into starting role in his rookie year out of his natural fucking position. An despite all of this he has showed some improvement over the past season.

Brandon Scherff was the favorite with Beasley as the next choice, both went before flowers. Andrus Peat the next OT taken was moved to LG after his first year so he wasn't the answer. The fuck did you want Reese to draft? Devante Parker / Danny Shelton ?

Na
I guess

Watch him be a starter.

So the fact that a bunch of Internet nerds loved a player they had no information about vindicates the awful drafting of the previous Giants regime?

No no no no no no.

I will admit I loved the pick. I actually wanted to take him in round 2 as I thought he was Tuck 2.0. Man was I wrong.
Yup i loved!! the pick when it happened
rasbutant : 3/8/2018 9:21 pm : link
Thought he was 1st round talent but still wouldn't have taken him until the 2nd round. But 3rd round, i thought we had the steal of the draft.
Owa had personal problems that were never revealed to the public.
81_Great_Dane : 3/8/2018 10:46 pm : link
I know a lot of people like to shit on guys who didn't succeed as Giants, but he's a young guy who had some stuff to deal with. The Giants couldn't wait for him and let him go. He didn't shoot anybody, he didn't rape anybody, he didn't beat up his wife or girlfriend, he didn't get caught running drugs. He had problems. If he's worked them out enough to try pro football again, good for him.
Look like tarzan.

Street free agents can be signed at any time.

Between the medical flags and his horrific family story, Odighizuwa was obviously a gamble. He seemed to have a pretty high ceiling for a third-round DE. Of all the draft picks to criticize, I think this one is pretty far down the list.

The connection to his father's crimes was well-known. I'm not sure even he was aware of the long-term effects at the time he was drafted.

It was more than internet nerds. He was a 1st round prospect with questions about his hips. JR took a flyer that he'd be medically fit. He was fit, but did not live up to 1st round hype.
I was psyched about the Owa pick and I thought
Rjanyg : 3/9/2018 7:09 am : link
The 3rd was a steal. It just goes to show how important scheme fit is and player development is too. He had talent.

Flowers was I guy I think I bought into once RV leaked he would be a likely consideration
OO's shortcomings are on Owa
ATL_Giants : 3/9/2018 7:54 am : link
not so much Reese.
Re-read Eric痴 2015 draft review. If it wasn稚 for injuries, Flowers
Ivan15 : 3/9/2018 7:57 am : link
could be the solid starting RT today, and Pugh might have been the starting LT.

Then today痴 discussion would have centered on
Was FLOwers drafted too high for a RT and,
Should Solder be aggressively pursued to replace Pugh?
I was excited about the Owa pick too, but I'm allowed to be because

Hold up, Are you implying you were against the pick when it happened. I find that hard to believe lol

Awful drafting huh, awful drafting doesn't get this organization 2 superbowls and I specifically refer to 07

Also you didn't acknowledge a single fucking thing I said, so ill try again. Giants liked 2 players...they weren't available at the pick ....they didn't want to trade down....they took the BPA that suited a need.

If you cant see this then you need to re-evaluate your fanship of the team. Feel free to be a Jets fan if that's more your style
