Especially as it concerns the prospects of the Browns trading up from #4.
I would hazard to guess they are going to look for a veteran QB to start 2018 while a rookie QB sits. If Josh Gordon can actually keep his head on straight, then they will have a trio of Gordon, Landry, and Corey Coleman. That is a pretty formidable trio if they can all stay on the field.
Compensation for Landry I would guess would be one of their early 2nd rounders, as well as a 3rd-5th rounder, or a 2nd next year.

That seems high for a guy at the end of his contract and who could become a FA in a year. But the Browns do have plenty of picks to spare

In this scenario they likely go Barkley/X ... Whoever is highest rated at 4. QB, Nelson, Fitz, Chub
yea i tend to agree, i think all they are missing on offense is the QB position. i think they should select him #1 overall and at 4 help the defense....
can make a big jump this season with the right moves in FA and the draft. This is significant for them.
They have 2 GMs in the FO, $107M in cap space, and down to 20 picks this draft(;-)..but you get the point).
It'd be good for the NFL if Cleveland was relevant against , as well as the city .
30 years of dumpster living...finally a shot to be moving on up to the East Side.
ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported that the Browns are sending two picks, one in 2018 and one in 2019 to Miami for the slot receiver, who recently signed his franchise tender.
it makes me think they want Barkley at one, sign a QB with some experience for this season and draft one of the QBs they like at 4 who will replace the temp guy. It would be slightly risky but it seems like a very Browns move to potentially lose your top QB because he got drafted at 2 or 3.
the Browns wouldn't go QB at #1 after making these moves. They run the risk of losing out on their guy which would make these moves seem silly
Yeah, it's only possible if they grade the QBs fairly evenly, or think the guy they want (if it's Allen or Mayfield) is sure to be there at four. Hopefully Barkley blows them away.

They still have KIser who will be sitting and learning as well. They get a VET QB to put fans in the seats and draft Barkley as part of their offensive attack. They could be quite fun to watch next year.
At best he’d be ok. Why would you upgrade at WR and have all these picks, coming off 1-31 over last 2 seasons and sign a JAG at the most important position in sports? And, why would you do that when you have the ability to get the top QB in the draft and voluntarily end up with the 2nd or 3rd best QB. People here act like it’s fantasy sports or Madden.
don't go QB at #1, they risk QBs going at 2 and 3 (via trade). It would be really dumb if they then had to just pick from whatever QB is left. Just take your guy!
(I also want Barkley as our pick so I'm biased...)
would have more to do with Barkley than it does the QBs. If he's just THAT much better than the other prospects (in their opinion), they know they have #4 in their back pockets.
Like they done in the past, especially if the 2 QB's selected ahead of them at #4 both turn out to be stars. The town would crucify them. They need to trade up to #2 to play it safe.
Gordon, with Corey Coleman as a #3 option is a hell of a lot of talent at WR. With a QB on the way
Now they have to hit on a qb. Whether it’s Mcarrens or a prospect (or both).
My Browns fans friends keep telling me the team is still high on Kizer.
They probably read that, and that is what the Browns absolutely should say publicly. Privately though, I highly doubt it. He didn't really improve over the course of the season, he threw 22 INTs, 12 in the first 8 games and 10 in the last 8 games, and he went 0-15 as a starter. 52.8% passer in the first 8 games, 54.4% in the last 8 games. Just 52.4% in his last 3 games.
You can't count on a player that performed pretty bad all year, over 15 games, winning zero, to all of a sudden turn it around. They are going to draft a QB, AND probably bring in a veteran.

pretty sure he'll catch passes with whoever is QB in Cleveland.
I would have liked to see the Giants get him, but Shepard, when healthy, is good enough in the slot.

Landry, Coleman, Gordon, Njoku + Barkley, Allen and a vet QB would be pretty damn good.

And it's good for Landry, getting paid was top priority.
This makes Cleveland more attractive to Cousins but I don't think it puts them in play.
This gives Miami assets to use if they want to trade up for a QB.

Don't you have to know what they gave up to determine that?
How is this a terrible move if the picks aren't that high? Landry is a great playmaker.

The didn't give up any 1st or 2nd round picks.
Incredible trade for the Browns
I agree. It would be foolish to pass on the #1QB. They have done it before and you'd think they have learned a lesson.
A good back can be had at 33.

Agreed. Assuming the QB you want will be there at #4 is risky.
