At some Happy hour 10 drinks deep just agreeing to all these deals.
The guy clearly has a plan and is implementing it. I doubt Dorsey fucks up the first pick and leaves the perceived better QB on the board for Gettleman.
these moves today solidify the fact that the Browns will be 100% taking a QB, and likely at 1 if they are smart.
They trade for a vet, but a guy with only one year on his deal.
Then, they get rid of their young QB, which makes sense. Taylor would be a way better mentor type than a guy like Kizer who has been in the league for a year and is still pretty raw himself.
On top of that, they get a security blanket type of WR in Landry who can be a trusted underneath target for a young QB to go along with the deep threats Gordon and Coleman.
Doubt Kizer sticks around to take the reigns from Rodgers and GB needs all the defensive help they can get. Unless they think Kizer is better than Hundley and gives them a better chance at wins should Rodgers ever miss an extended period of time again?
John Dorsey seems determined to shake things up in a big way there. Good for them - overdue.
Agreed. I'd like the Browns to be good. Great fanbase and I have some family members who are Brown fans.
Funny enough, my grandfather was a huge Browns fan.
He passed away when I was in high school, I never actually asked him why he became a Browns fan - but I still remember him putting me and my cousins to work out in the yard with that orange helmet on his hat.
Those fans have suffered forever. Would be nice to see them break through.
I remember how excited they were when they made the playoffs with Tim Couch and Willie freakin' Green toting the rock. Didn't go anywhere, but it was pretty cool to see them back in the playoffs.
I think Butch Davis was still coaching them then.
They had a 10 win season a few years later but missed the playoffs and haven't been back since.
this years Roseman?
Taylor, Randall, Landry for a 3rd, 4th and Kizer, X and 7th in '19; AND, still have 4 picks in top 35 in the draft.
Rentals to get better, assets to vet better than that.
RE: Kiszer reported to challenge Rodgers for the number 1 spot Â
Obviously Kizer wasn't thought of highly. I guess the solidifies its QB at #1.
To be fair, everyone with a brain knew he wasn't ready to play last season, yet the Browns were a brainless organization that didn't even bring in a vet to compete for the job. So of course Kizer looked better than the other QBs in practice and they set him up to fail by playing him too soon.
This is the best thing that could've ever happened to Kizer.
Had a rough rookie year but all things considered other than the interceptions his stats are not never before seen by a rookie QB. If you looked at Payton or Eli rookie stats nothing says they would become great or good NFL QB’s.

Teams covet a good backup QB. If Kizer learns...
A sure sign that they will draft Mayfield #1 is that he and Taylor are Â

Anyone is better than Hundley. He blows. Kiser has skills, but needs a ton of coaching. Maybe sitting behind the best QB in football will help. It’s not the craziest idea.

Exactly. It's Barkley or Rosen for the Giants to pick I think. Nice choice to have.

Maybe, there are still rumors that say they want to sign AJ McCarron
Dorsey wants a franchise QB. Kizer wasn't his draft choice. They'll probably go with Darnold at 1 now.

Pure genius GM! Why couldn’t Reese see the big picture?
McCarthy is super arrogant. He thinks he can win with any QB that passes his fancy.
Cleveland still taking a QB #1. And the Bill are calling DG as I write this...
Pure genius GM! Why couldn’t Reese see the big picture?
So far he sounds like more of a genius than our Current GM too never mind Reese.....
Based on fucking what?

I guess because Gettleman didn't sign the best player at every position in the league for $1 annually.
