Would appear to contradict previous La Canfora report that Keenum to Broncs was close to a done thing.
Does indicate that Denver is not optimistic about Cousins and will follow the strategy of acquiring a placeholder QB, as well as drafting a QB, either at #5 or trade up.
There was previous report of Elway engaging Browns in trade up talk at the combine. If today's other moves solidify Cleveland taking their own QB at #1, NYG becomes the top trade up spot at #2.
Fishing for QBs - (

I feel as though I'm playing a part in a familiar conversation but, no, acquiring the temporary placeholder is not an indictment of the QB draft class.
For Denver fans, Cousins is the only alternative to drafting a first round QB, and they're not optimistic.
Ironically, we have a vet QB and a young unproven QB and everyone wants to draft another one.
When the music stops and Cousins picks a chair, that is going to leave a lot of teams left standing. And left wondering who is going to put the package together to jump ahead on draft day.
Broncos, Jets, Cardinals and Bills are the most obvious and probably enough to form a critical mass of competition.
