If we want Barkley unless someone trades up to get him

The 12th Man : 3/9/2018 9:03 pm
After today’s moves he will be there to get him it looks like now. I am stoked, this team can have weapons every where on O. Get the OL done in FA, I seriously think we can this around. Go Blue! Go Barkley!
Nothing that happened today

Changes whether the Browns will take Barkley or not.
I'm not following

Maybe it's obvious and I'm overlooking it, however how does todays Brown's moves equate to them taking a QB 1st overall?
They traded their QB of the future

For a stop gap. They is no way now they are not taking a QB with their pick

Kiser was not their QB of the future. The trades today changed nothing.
LOL!

They traded there QB of the future Kizer is not as good as Taylor. Look the question is when do the Browns take a QB at 1 or pick 4. We can only guess. It is like arguing Rivers,Ruth or Eli. Either way they are all good and that might be what the Browns think.
The browns are going to

Take a QB now at #1 and I’m thinking that’s Mayfield or maybe Allen

I don’t see how they can wait to #4 too much chance they’re guy might not be there

The next Question is do the Giants go best player available which probably is Barkley or need which brings us to QB or trade down and I’m not to sure I’d want to give away #2

Good luck Dave Gettleman
Browns finally

have a legit starter at QB, a solid possession rcvr, and a ball hawk in their secondary. Their weakest position now? RB. They still need QB for the future. If one of the QBs is clearly, on their board, the one best bet for the future they will take him at #1. If not, it's Barkley at #1, QB at #4.
Brown's taking Barkley
bc4life : 3/10/2018 8:48 am : link
is a pretty good bet. The real question is how they rank the top QBs. If they think there are 2-3 fairly equal it makes little difference (unlikely).

What makes it interesting is whether they have one QB they think they must have. By taking Barkley they would stand a very good chance of losing that one QB.

Personally with all that FA money - their best bet may be to try and trade for Foles, if possible. They could then draft Barkley, Nelson and still have money for Norwell.
legit starter
bc4life : 3/10/2018 8:49 am : link
at QB? Tyrod Taylor?
If the Browns want Mayfield, they can get him at #4.
Ivan15 : 3/10/2018 8:51 am : link
The Giants and Colts won’t pick him and no one will trade up for him. Even if someone did trade up, the Browns can sit at #4 and still get a good QB prospect.

Crazy thought: The Browns take a QB at #1 and #4, and then auction either one for the best package.
Yea but usually
NikkiMac : 3/10/2018 10:05 am : link
When you draft a QB in the first round it’s because you have a conviction on that guy and you draw up a plan to go get him you don’t settle for QB#2or#3......

. Absolutely. None of this has ever made sense. If you’re a team that feels like it absolutely needs a QB, if you’re a team that puts a premium on the QB position and feels the QB is the singular driving force to success, then you’re going to make darned sure you get the guy you feel leads you best. If you wait until the #4 pick, then you’re essentially saying you view the “top” 3 QBs as interchangeable, which is really saying the the class isn’t that generational and you’ll take a QB just tot are a QB. But if you feel that there is a superlative guy out there, then you don’t risk losing him.
With Taylor on board
OB13Kenobi : 3/10/2018 10:38 am : link
they have more time to develop a raw-prospect like Josh Allen who is likely to be there when they pick at 4. IMO the trades they made make it more likely that they pick Barkley at 1, but who knows.

point would be that if Allen was their guy, it would be foolish to risk losing him.
Taylor has one year left on his contract

so Browns are taking a QB. Whether it is #1 or #4 is the only question. Will depend on whether there is a "must have" QB for them.
I think the Brown's new GM
PEEJ : 3/10/2018 12:11 pm : link
is trying to re-energize the fan base and make the Brown's relevant again. I predict he'll trade his fourth pick for the Giants' second. By taking the "best" QB and the best RB, he'll be making a statement that will drive the fans wild with excitement.
