I had my draft tonight. I was pretty much not prepared for it but I did what I could. It was an in-person off-line draft so the picks were all over the place as opposed to looking at the computer and seeing the next group of ranked players.

It is a 12 team head to head categories league. There are 8 hitting and 8 pitching categories.

Batting: R, H, HR, RBI, SB, K, Ave, OPS
Pitching: IP, W, L, S, K, TB, ERA, WHIP

Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, 3 OF, 2 U, 4 SP, 2 RP, 2 P, 5 BN, 2 or 3 DL

Gattis - C
Posey - C/1B
Bellinger - 1B/OF
Hoskins - 1B/OF
Castro - 2B
Hiura - 2B
Nunez - 2B/3B/SS/OF
Shaw - 3B
Andujar - 3B
Correa - SS
D. Santana - OF
Altherr - OF
Adell - OF

Kluber - SP
Severino - SP
Lester - SP
S. Gray - SP
Stroman - SP
Bauer - SP
Rodon - SP
Peacock - SP/RP
Minter - RP
Hader - RP

My strategy was to go with hitting early. I had pick 12 in a snake draft. The pitching that was available to me early just seemed like better value.

I didn't want to reach for a closer because that is just one category but the closers really started jumping off the board so I just went with RP that have a low WHIP and high K numbers.

I can definitely use another bat. I don't know much about these young kids I drafted other than they were ranked high and have potential. Will they be starting the year in the majors, come up at some point early in the season, or did I just overdraft them? I mean I have been paying attention to Andujar but nothing is set in stone with him. I am talking more about Hiura and Adell.

Have at it. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
No mets?

You either avoided an injury bug or a disappointment. Good job

Haha. It is run by a guy in his 50s. We have it at a bar and nobody brought a computer to hook up to the tv. I had my computer but we couldn't see shit so I spent all of my time saying things like who was picked, who's up, when the fuck did thay guy go, and stuff like that. I had little time to research playerz because all my time was spent on who was taken and finding out where they were on my sheets/computer.
Mine is next saturday and I've done zero research

work has been non-stop and I've got three young kids. Also throw in the fact that so many players continue to feel their services are worth $150 million guaranteed and teams are finally starting to wise up - so will they retire or eventually sign somewhere? And then without training camp how will pitchers like Arrieta hold up?

Will be an interesting season.
