The NFL All-Improved Team: Players who made biggest jumps

Stan in LA : 3/10/2018 12:18 pm
Quote:
LG: Andrew Norwell, Carolina Panthers

2016 grade: 84.2
2017 grade: 88.8

The guard spots on this list are both occupied by players who already had impressive play on their résumés but elevated that play to another level in 2017. Norwell was a good guard in 2016, but he was a great guard this past season, dramatically improving his pass protection to go along with his already formidable run blocking. Norwell didn't allow a sack or a hit all season, and he surrendered just 13 hurries across 16 games of pass protection. He had eight games of perfect pass protection in 2017 and was only flagged twice all year for penalties.

Free agent: Norwell

Norwell hits free agency coming off a career year and without a lot of quality competition on the offensive line. He should make big money as the clear star of the group.

And for a LG that is a stupid dollar amount. Pass
Do you want to fix the line or count nickels?

After six years of line play and no ability to run an offense, I can't imagine why anyone would nickle and dime this. Prices have gone up for the top OL since the last time the Giants cared to shop for one.

This x10000.

Fix the line. Pay a premium. Without it the offense can't function.
Not to mention

Having him at LG will help out the LT and C positions. Lesser players might be serviceable in this case.

Look at how much better Flowers looked with Jerry next door. Imagine an actually good player next to him. In addition to being a great player himself, it would be a greater than the sum of the parts scenario.
How much did we pay bum WR
