Good sign for Mets Rosario leads off the game with a nice 2B in the gap. Bad sign Harvey in early trouble with Gardner and Judge singles and he just hit Stanton. Bases loaded no out.
which is troubling but he really didn't pitch that poorly. The only really hard hit ball was the single by Gardner. Everything else was well placed or too slow to turn 2.
Harvey induced a bunch of ground balls, with poor decisions and execution on the throws leading to runs, some of those ground balls were hit hard and got through the infield.
Harvey isn't getting lit up...he pitched fine, some poor throws by Rosario and Reyes took outs away and directly led to the runs.
The Yank announcers commented on that several times. That's either a very bad sign that he doesn't trust his secondary pitches or a good sign that he is confident in his secondaries and he was just working on fastball command in a meaningless game. We probably won't really know until April.
RE: Harvey threw almost exclusively fastballs all day Â

That was true until the 4th. In the 4th and 5th Harvey threw almost exclusive offspeed stuff. He breezed through the 4th and 5th until the Stanton bomb too. This is likely by design. Every starter through this turn has followed a similar pattern.

He doesn’t get any swings and misses anymore. Just like last season

Good news. Says he is good and will play Monday. Hoping like hell he beats out Petersen and Espinosa who, to me, look pedestrian...
