The Miami Dolphins are attempting to trade the last player that remains from the franchise’s 2014 draft class. Ja’Wuan James, the team’s 2014 first-round pick, is being shopped to teams seeking offensive line help, and could be moved before the start of free agency on Wednesday, according to a league source. |
doesn't make me warm and fuzzy.
Even if it were swapping of picks in a certain round, 9 mill is too much, IMO

While Miami’s decision makers feel James is a capable starting right tackle, the organization views his $9.34 million salary in 2018 as exorbitant.

Miami is in cap hell so they are trying everything.
Flowers for James might be addition by subtraction as far as Giants' management is concerned, but still, there's no point in making a trade for a guy you don't want. (Unless you can pull off a deal like Cleveland made for Brock Osweiler, where you get a nice draft pick back along with the player, then dump the player.)
It will be interesting what Pugh will sign for.
Not suggesting Giants trade for him.
Sorry for any confusion...
Sure, he's better than Flowers. I just don't get why everyone here wants to get rid of Pugh but then they'd want this guy.
Strange he wanted to play LG.
The way I see it now is that solid offensive lineman do not become available, anyone on the block right should be viewed a potential risk.

Dolphins are currently $3M OVER the cap. So clearing $9M and not taking on any dead money is what would happen with releasing or trading James.
It's strictly a salary cap move. Just like DRC was here with the Giants.

Mike Tannenbaum that's how. What he has done to the Dolphins is the same thing that he did to the Jets. He built a mediocre team with several bloated contracts. Suh has a $26 million cap number and if he is cut most of that would be dead money. Tannehill has a $19 million cap hit as well.
Sue is the same to many games he is way to invincible for his talent level got all the tools desire sometimes missing. You can go up and down the Phins roster way to many players fit this profile. In truth it’s pretty much the same with the Giants to many players not even close to performing to talent level. Not sure we can fix that right now that’s why FA scares me big money paydays poor talent mix and performance get the young hungry guys hoping to make a name in the NFL.
I don’t know why he is inconsistent but that is true of the whole MIAMI line.
The tackle market is so woefully thing that I cant imagine the Giants not being interested if he became available.
