Strip House is terrific but a more sedate venue, food should be excellent at both spots. Not been to Sparks in at least 5-6 years but it has a strong rep.

for the non steak house i would suggest Momofuku bar in the east village. GREAT for big groups, and really not costly at all. Great vibe.

Thanks for the input, Ryan. Are you referring to Momofuku Ssam? Or Noodle Bar? I’m assuming not Ko, as that one looks absurdly expensive and like a place we’d be kicked out of within minutes...

Right on with this. Strip House is delicious and great for a date, but Del Friscos has top notch steak and a much more fun atmosphere.

but if it is in April or later you should definitely plan around a Yankees or Mets game, the beers are expensive, but I always think it is the perfect afternoon activity before the festivities later that night.

during a bachelor party weekend many years ago. First one of my friends who got married. Really set the bar high (or low depending how you look at it).

My buddy getting married was so wasted by the time we got there we saw Nicolas Cage eating at a table maybe two tables away and he kept yelling (he thought he was talking, but he was yelling) at him "Nicky Coppola, you're the best" "hey Cameron Poe where's Cyrus the Virus"

finally they came over and asked him to leave. We all couldn't leave we ordered drinks and meals but we put him in a cab and sent him back to the hotel and said we'd meet him there.

finished dinner, went by the hotel and he was nowhere to be found.

Didn't hear from him until a few days later and the adventure was Hangover-esque (some of it verified, some taken at his word from what little memory he had).

Anyway, point is Sparks is awesome, but don't get totally wasted before going.

We were younger than too, so I wouldn't expect something like that to happen at this age. Not sure your age/maturity level

for my BP last summer in NYC. Food was fantastic and the place has more of a trendy look as opposed to a traditional steak place. They had the option of putting together a custom menu as well.

Quality EATS is a new sister venture, but not sure about a party group.

Bowery Meat Co is definitely worth a look.

Those 3 steakhouses are all good. I agree that strip house is a little sedate and smaller if I remember correctly. Wolfgang’s in Tribeca is really good with a good vibe for a bachelor party.

Also need hotel suggestions. Don’t need anything too nice. Want to shower and sleep comfortably, but I don’t have any intention of remembering what the place looks like...

Take the Subway to Brooklyn and enjoy the best steak of your life.

Then come back to Rick's Cabaret in midtown for some entertainment afterwards.

are a difficult way to start off a night out.

Not that they arent awesome but eating the amount of food usually ordered at a steak dinner either a) gives me the shits horribly for the rest of the night or b) makes me want to sleep more than party.

Big steak dinners are best followed up by a night in the casino gambling than they are in crowded bars or anything involving women.

How many people? hotel might be hardest part of the night. NYC hotels aren't exactly known for being spacious.

I have trouble finding a room in NYC that fits 5 just with my family and that includes 3 children.

maybe try one of the NYC Residence Inn's or look for a suite somewhere.

Will essentially be nightclub pricing, but tons of fun.

No need really to make evening plans that day, because you will be so out of it from the afternoon....

Sounds like there are going to be either 9 or 10 of us. I’m resigned to the fact that it’s going to be at least 3 rooms. I’m 35 years old and I have 2 kids — I’ll definitely pay up a little to make sure I have a bed.

it's a great steakhouse on the top floor of the Penthouse Club. I went for a bachelor party there and there were high-quality strippers entertaining and hanging out with us while we ate. Also comes with free admission to the club.

Nust-Et may be the "it" restaurant of the moment, but I don't know how good it is.

9-12 people is perfect for one of those large format, nose to tail dinners at certain restaurants. I'd look into it, restaurants that pop up on a quick search include Ssam Bar, Decoy, Breslin, Resto, and Toro....

Barbuto and L'Artusi both have a private dinning area but still within the restaurant so that it's more lively. Ai Fiori has a good brunch deal.

Here's how you get into 4 Charles Prime.

Use the Resy App. At exactly midnight 30 days out, reservations become live for that night. They don't seat more than 6 people and they have only two seatings for 6 people: at 6pm and at 9:30. Instead, go with 4 people.

I've gone a few times and my suggestion is to go for an early dinner (5:15, 5:30, 6). The reason I say this is because not only is it easier to get a reservation then, but because they have a limited number of porterhouses and French Dips-- and the French Dip is my favorite thing on the menu.

restaurant I counted the days to get a table was Brooklyn Fare, and my wife had to do it. Usually just browse Rezy, Tock, and Opentable and grab whatever is available.

Went to Bavette at Chicago, I heard they will open a branch in NY, that should inject some life into the NY steakhouse scene.

It's sort of touristy and a little cheesy perhaps, but the food is excellent and it's perfect for a large group.

You've probably been and know what to expect.

Yes, I have done Carmine’s. But there are a number of first-time-NYC dudes, so maybe not a bad idea.

dudes I'd go Sparks or Peter Lugers, something about being in the spot where Paul Castellano was whacked seems like old school NYC to some people (not me, I like the food), and Peter Lugers is an institution.

I'd go to Carmines for the other night.

I'd go to Juniors for brunch (not great for a large group, but again, a NY institution - incredible food, just feels like NY).

when they leave they'll have good memories of NY food at least.

Hit the gentleman's clubs mentioned at night and day drink at McCorley's or other spots in the Village.

First time I went to McSorleys I wasn't even old enough to drink and we were seated at a table and I saw a jar on the table with a brown substance in it. So I said to my friends but loud enough for a waiter to hear "why do they have peanut butter on the table?" and the waiter answered in his snarky Irish brogue "It's mustard ye prick"

Classic McCorleys. No idea if they still have the same surliness.
