NFT: online banks

I'm thinking about using Discover Cards' Savings Account, which gives me a much higher yield that the standard bank interest rate.

Anyone have experience with Discover, or other online banks that they can recommend?

No issues at all and as you mention, they consistently offer one of the highest yields.

Easy to transfer between accounts, though I believe you are limited to 6 withdrawals/month.

I have Capital one 360, leftover from when it was orange account. I have been happy with Capital One, but just got curious about the rate since i hadn't looked at it in a long time.
I was surprised that Capital one is only 1% right now where as most other other are 1.4-1.5%.
American Express, Discover, Ally, www.synchronybank.com

I end up opening a Christmas Club account with my bank...service credit union, at 3%. Only downfall is the limit is $3k, which was fine for me but might not be what you are looking for. They also have CD rates at 3% as well.

Thry do pay a lower rate than most online banks. I know this was true; i think it still is but haven’t checked since I closed my account there. Cap One 360 does not allow one to set beneficiaries for the account. Sounds ridiculous but it was true and I think it still is

Ally Bank ...

Great service. Zero minimum balance for checking or savings. Checking pays interest, comes with ATM card which Ally will reimburse you for third party fees; zero fees with free supply of checks forever; online banking. Ally is always #1 or #2 in interest rates they pay.

You can open an unlimited number of savings accounts, each with zero minimum balance. Thus you can have separate accounts for various dedicated savings goals. Again, very competitive interest.

I can't say enough good things about Ally Bank.
