Turning into the classic overused fake news cliche. Starting to think smart teams are putting out all kinds of fiction leaks. Or agents are just trying to generate some bidding.
And also realizing every player, no matter position, thinks they are gong to get a new trend setting 20mil a year contract. Time to reign these egos in to a world of the salary cap.
Hoping the giants stay reasonable. Don’t need another cap destroying era.
One way or another they have to sign a lot of guys since they have so many of their own free agents . This is as it should be when you finish 3-13. I don’t think they will replicate 2001, when Accorsi put together a roster that had something like 20 college non-drafted free agents . To avoid that gruesome scenauo , which would guarantee another double-digit
loss season, Gettleman is going to have to spend lots of money. And that is before you consider Beckham’s deal, which will hover around 20 million a year .
Fake News my ass...what an absolutely stupid, idiotic phrase!
I don't know why, but the past month there have been a lot of comments about the tight grip the salary cap has and how the Giants aren't going to be able to make moves. Now, we even have an insinuation that the giants had a time where they were struggling against the cap.
Additionally, the salary cap goes up every year. The top free agent talent is always looking to up their max salary. This is not a new trend and something you should've realized years ago. Rinse and repeat.
WHOA. Mind blown.

and thus contracts are going to go up every year.
WHOA. Mind blown.
Immensely? - we'll see what happens if TV revenues keep declining. If the trend reverses, of course the CAP will go up.
The NFL is still primo programming.
Yeah every team does it, but those teams are also having cap concerns and often struggle a few years to sign top FA's.
I guess I view these things from a realist perspective. I don't really think you can build a team from free agency, but I'm more concerned about having the money to keep the talent you have...especially if its winning talent
