Hey BBI! I'm new to the website. Long time viewer, first time poster. Aside from being a big Giants fan, I'm a huge fan of college basketball, especially the NCAA tournament. I'm a Stony Brook grad (go Seawolves! We made the tournament last year for the first time just to get blasted by Kentucky). I'm also a Tar Heels fan since my girlfriend went to UNC (I know, scandal, scandal).
Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on who they like for the Final 4 and eventual champs. I have UNC, Virginia, Duke, and Villanova in the Final 4 with UNC winning. Virginia is great and I like Arizona as well in this tournament. My sleeper teams are South Dakota State to win a few games, and Miami.
Tonight, I have St Bonaventure and LIU-Brooklyn.
Three straight championship games would be a tremendous feat.
I keep going back and forth but I think i'm going with Arizona, Michigan, Michigan St and Villanova
My dad went there too, his freshman year was the Final Four season. He'll be over the moon if they win this one.
There are several rules that the committee follows regarding geography, not having teams from same conference in 1-4 seed line in same region, avoiding home crowd disadvantage in first round, avoiding teams that met a certain number of times in a season. Then the committee adds up the true seeds of the top 4 seeds in each conference to ensure balance (not having a difference of greater than 5).
Many think the committee is building brackets in order to create certain match-ups for specific narratives but it just isn't the case.

Stockard practiced yesterday. He will be a game time decision. I have heard though that he will be playing. He has really turned things on the last 15 games. Go Bona's!!!

Greg her is hoping your Dad and the /wolf Pack are over joyed tonight.
Adams needs to be very big tonight!
EVERY GOD DAMN YEAR someone gets hurt.
2012, Joe Harris has a club on hand
2014 Anthony GIll hobbles ankle in Michigan STate game
2015, Justin Anderson has appendix removed and breaks bone in hand at end of season
2017, Wilkins has double-pneumonia and doesn't play.
Can't catch a god damn break.

and I have a good feeling about tonight. I drove up to D.C. and saw them lose to Davidson in the A10 semifinals, but they played a solid game without Stockard. Just not enough firepower. He might be limited with his hammy, but at least he's not a scratch.

Agree 12th. He has kind of disappeared the last few games. Mobley can't do it all--but he came close against the Spiders. He was unconscious. Griffin could help too.

And I've heard from many places that Brogdon was playing through an undisclosed injury in the 2016 tournament.
Injuries happen, I know, but ours always seem to happen at the end of the goddamned season. Don't really have an obvious replacement, either, unless Tony throws caution to the wind and gives Huff some minutes.

That is awful news. Kid is a real difference maker, and, I think, UVA's best pro prospect...
Not really unless they go on a crazy run. He was such a versatile player. The only guy who can score inside reliably, and can also shoot from the perimeter. He could guard 1-4, and he was our zone-buster.
This makes our offense much more one-dimensional and I expect teams that don't p;lay zone to absolutely sell out to smother the perimter now and dare our bigs to beat them inside.
When we lose, I know it will be because our offense can't function as effectively without Hunter and the bullshit stigma that we don't have an offense will rear its ugly head.
UVA was the most likely in the South to make it, but no way is that the case anymore. The winner of Zona/Kentucky, Cincinnatti, and Tennessee are all more likely in my opinion.
I thought the road was difficult enough with Zona & Kentucky lurking. I don't think I'm hearing "Taps" but the bugler has entered the building...

True, poor choice of words on my part
Sorry about the bad break. Have really enjoyed watching this Virginia team
-at least one of the guards has to shoot lights out in every game. Hunter was the guy who usually picked up the scoring slack when they are all cold.
-Diakite has to bust out. He's given them a boost on offense in several games lately, now he'd need to do it consistently.
- He also needs to stop the dumbass fouls
- Wilkins needs to find his jumper. He's shown a nice stroke in the past but he's struggled mightily the last two months, to the point that he hardly ever shoots anymore.
We can do those things and win games. Unfortunately, I can't see us stringing 4 wins together that way.
No one missed your "contributions". Just wanted to let you know.

Missed mine, respect yours...... is there really a difference?

Early '90s were my best College Hoops memories. Loved the 90-91 UNLV and 94 Boston College teams

I liked that too, originally, so it will not happen.

'Zona in the Final 4 has to be the NCAA's worst nightmare, thinking they might have to vacate their wins in a year or 2.
