It's early in the process and I hope that I am wrong but this is what I was afraid of with the Gettleman hiring ...the same old way of doing things ...just no creativity or aggressiveness. I like the Ogletree trade but this roster needs a infusion of talent quickly and the fan base needs something to get excited about. I'm not saying DG is sleep at the wheel but it is time to get out of the old Giant was of doing business and go out and make some sexy moves...do something besides resign Mark Herzlich and bringing in a back that should not even make the team.
Have you ever considered the possibility that you're just a whiner?
Thanks but I never said he was or wasn't a bust ...just saying it looks like more of the same from the last 3 GM's and as I said it is still early. Try reading the post and not being so quick to be a smart ass
Whether he was good or not is up for debate - and I'm not interested in getting into that now, but "sexy moves" was basically the JR forte for a while.
Reese had 2 off-season where he identified players he wanted... the year the brought in Chris Canty and Rocky Bernard, and of course 2 years ago. They all learned from George Young who prided himself on patience ..which can be a good thing most of the time.

Not even into official FA yet and he's a bust. Great analysis.

I think I'll do whatever I want but since we're giving out advice: Maybe don't make stupid posts in day 1 of FA and less than 6 months into a GMs tenure making conclusions.
This place...
Constantly kicking the can down the road with FA’s

Is LakeGeorgeGiant = Seth?

Exactly. How's the 2016 offseason looking right now?
The plan is to rebuild the team. Big name free agents are a luxury - none of them will sign here anyway - and I think this team will be looking for young 2nd and 3rd tier guys.
This team will pick high - a QB or Barkley - and will suck again next year and get another top 5/10 pick. That's what rebuilding means.
This isn't a worst to first candidate. This team has been looking for the quick fix every year since 2013 and only once, the mirage of 2016, did it work. DG is trying the patient approach and it will take some time.
Big contracts to pierce, Mackenzie, and buress
In the same offseason

Had one really good year. One terrible year.
I'll take a playoff berth - would have been home game but the best team in the NFC was in our division, it happens - and a year where we can select the #2 overall pick... over two mediocre ones.
I want something sexy to happen too..
Vernon, Snacks, and Jenkins all had terrific years in 2016. Snacks had a terrific year in 2017, Jenkins and Vernon were hurt.
Those players are still young vets and the building blocks for what hopefully is no more than 1-2 year rebuild to get back into contention.
[quote] I'm just not going to bullshit myself into believing they've actually earned their contracts. And as for them being young building blocks, JPP and Jenkins are probably gone in a year or possibly sooner. [/quote
LOL. Jenkins is getting cut now?
Nothing like panic on this board. I want my GM to have a well thought out plan for balanced roster building. Throwing money at EVERY name FA is no way to solve this mess. ( Norwell was an exception he was young and DG new him well).
