I have been absolutely swamped at work today. As others have mentioned, I have been a poster for almost 8 years and lurked for about 10 years before that. I have never posted fake news and have always tried to abide by BBIs rules. I've even written some articles for Eric in the past for BBI.
I understand with Asshat info it can either make or break a persons reputation (Hi Slade.) If it's wrong I will 100% man up and take my online beatings. I am standing by what I was told, and wanted to pass it along to BBI since I appreciate the community and all the breaking news so much. I personally am hoping it's wrong because I'm in the franchise QB or Barkley camp. But we should have some clarity about it soon.
As Sonic Youth mentioned I did attend University of Miami, interned and worked for the football team under Al Golden. Still friendly and keep in touch with some current and former NFL players including Sean Spence, Senatrell Henderson among others. Also have a friend who is a low level NFL agent but is very connected with the inner goings of the league. That's about all I can say without giving away my source. Just wanted to provide a little more clarity.
I'm guessing you haven't heard any particulars like picks/players coming back?
Its just odd timing because what is the incentive for the Giants unless the Bills just blew them away with any offer they couldn't refuse and the giants wanted to start scouting players in the middle of the 1st round which they might not have been doing as heavily before?
I get it from the bills prospective...lock the #2 pick so you know you are at least getting one of the top 2 QB's...but for the Giants to do it there would have to be a ridiculous amount of value coming whether its picks/players.
Our problems are because of bad drafting and the best way to fix our problem is through good drafts--not free agency, but we are not going to do that with 5 draft picks. Although the second pick could be tremendous, we may be better off fixing the entire team with extra high picks this year and next year.
I want Barkley at 2, but I think we may benefit more with a draft haul as long as we actually start making good draft picks.
thats what makes me think that they'd have to be blown away, and worry maybe the colts would take a similar package instead if they don't jump on it. Keep in mind the year rams and eagles traded up neither was on draft night. Rams were about 2 weeks before and eagles were about a week before. Granted not as far out as this but if it's something too good to pass up they probably pounce on it.
I hope the deal is not made, Giants should not pass up the chance to take a QB, unless the new coach likes a guy that they can get later like Mason Rudolph.
I was told it would be a haul. Probably similar to what we've been hearing around here for a potential trade. If I had to guess.
2 first rounders this year, 2nd rounder, 4th rounder, 2019 first rounder,
def sounds plausible (I would hope to scratch out both there seconds along with both 1sts and there 2019 1st. I would want to obliterate the trade value chart because it would be for a QB.
But from the looks of it Mara/Gettleman want to compete and these FA moves seems to align with giving Eli another year or two run at this. So from that prospective a trade down acquiring a trove of picks would make sense to help address a lot of our issues. I personally wouldn't do it. But the direction from the owner/GM point that would align with what they seem to be wanting to do.
when does the offer just become too attractive to pass up?
Let us take this rumor and call it fact for sake of argument.. buffalo is offering both 1st round picks, a 2nd, a 4th AND 2019 1st for our 2nd overall pick.

If that's the return, I almost think you HAVE to do it. Especially if you aren't sold on the QBs. No way an RB prospect is worth giving up those picks either.
and thanks for passing along. I know it's tough to share info on BBI and not get backlash. That said, I find it strange the Giants would pull the trigger on a trade this big in mid March. Usually this would happen closer to the draft, so the only way I'd see this happening is if the following
- The Giants are not impressed with the QB crop to draft that high
- They don't want to pick a RB (Barkley) that high
- They realize they have lots of holes to fill and will spread the picks rather than hoping to hit a home run with #2
- The Giants are worried the Bills would make a similar deal with the Colts or Browns and wanted to strike before they move on.
If the deal doesn't include their next year #1, the Giants should hang up the phone.
If that is the trade or something similar. Could be looking at something like Denzel Ward and Mcglitchey in the 1st (still not sold on flowers think hell be gone after this year even moving to RT.) and then maybe a Guice for RB and then a good guard with the Bills 2nd rounder. You get a OT, OG, CB, and RB. That fills a ton of holes on the team.
Plus you still have two first rounders next year where I don't think BIllls will be that great with a rookie QB and an aging McCoy at RB.

100% agree. Its just too much value to pass up IMO. Downside is our ceiling is low this year (6-7 wins tops)

Here's a question. If you want to protect your source, why share this allegedly sensitive info on an internet message board? Why do it??
You are betraying the confidence of somebody close to you. In order to...stir up discussion on a message board? Look like an insider for an audience of anonymous posters?
True or not, if you ever find yourself in possession of "insider info," Thrill Ride begs you to keep it private. Both for the sake of your relationship with source and also The Org's dealings.
Leaks a couple seasons ago caused us to get jumped for Jack Conklin and wind up with Eli Apple.
I didnt see Joe Schmo at blank agency said this. BBI has been a great source of Giants as well as other info for me over the better part of two decades. Wanted to share the info I got. But thanks for your concern.
sources get things wrong. Don’t worry if it turns out not happening M89.
If they do this trade Gettleman will look foolish in the years to come. It’s like a kicking an extremely large bucket down the road.
Or it will be genius. Cowboys trade of Herschel Walker netted them Emmitt Smith, Darren Woodson, and Russell Maryland (eventually, trading picks they received from Minnesota to maneuver). When you think about what 4 picks, 3 in the first two rounds, adding to our existing picks, and a 1st rounder next year, could potentially do...is set up the franchise for sustained success. Particularly if Buffalo's 2019 first rounder is parlayed into a franchise QB.

...the cost was substantial, listed here in chronological order
...#8 overall
2016 3rd rounder(#77 overall)
2016 4th rounder(#100 overall)
2017 1st rounder
2017 4th rounder
2018 2nd rounder
To entice us to move to #12 it would take a ridiculous haul of picks and or players.
He's like Katy Perry without the past success.
True - it's like Costanza's ability to detect a lie.
that's what I was saying.
I now believe it is happening
This gives the Asshat info some credibility now....
** IF it’s legit **
Keep breaking the news!

Or he can look very smart by rebuilding the depth and if Davis Webb can become the future
My wife actually bought a Kerwin Bell Jersey. She liked the dayglow green of the Orlando Thunder.

Something mind blowing

always happy to be surprised though....
Let’s hope it stays like that
Both of their 2nd round (53 and 56)
Fourth 4rd (121)
2019 1st
If we got that we could use one of the second round picks to jump back into the top 10 if we wanted to.

Thanks for the information. I'd still prefer not to drop to #12. Too much of a trade down. But that would be fair compensation.
