I am not proud of it but I did not accomplish what I needed at work today because of this thread. I will be up late doing work now and will need to show some more restraint but its been fun.
If the rumor is true or not the discussion on the possibilities of the trade were very interesting a plausible and may still be something we see. Maybe the giants have been reading this today and will decide to do the trade now :).
At 12 you have a shot at Derwin James, Denzel Ward, Roquan Smith (I think Smith won't get past the Raiders at 10, though) or Mike McGlinchey (I still would have no problem drafting him even with the addition of Solder).
Come back at 22 and the guy I'm circling his name big time is Isaiah Wynn or perhaps a CB if I didn't get one at 12 like Carlton Davis.
Then at the top of round 2 at 34 overall I like Billy Price, maybe James Daniels. Marcus Davenport could be there, even. If I haven't grabbed a corner yet Jaire Alexander could be in play.
Then at #53 overall, which would be one of Buffalo's 2nd rounders, I want Rashaad Penny or Nick Chubb. If I didn't get a C earlier I like Frank Ragnow an awful lot, he can also play Guard. Braden Smith, great OG out of Auburn, also a strong choice. Consolation prizes would be Sam Hubbard, Lorenzo Carter, or Derek Nnadi, who to me would be a great interior pass rusher, can be a pass-rushing nose on passing downs to spell Harrison, and/or can play on the end in a 3-4.
Then at the top of round 3 I really like Armani Watts at FS. I think Bettcher would love this guy. If I miss on him Equanimeous St. Brown, but a guy I really like and don't want to gamble on waiting to round 4 is Tre'Quan Smith, WR out of UCF. He's one of my big value picks in this draft. Perhaps Tyrell Crosby or Kolton Miller slips here although I don't think so.
Then you still are going to have two first rounders next year, with high potential that one or both of them will be high first round picks, but now you have an influx of talent so if you can grab your franchise QB next year, he already has a rebuilt O-line and some young talent entering their 2nd year to work with. That would be 5 picks inside of the top 66 overall picks of the draft, and you hope you have 5 good players to add to your team before you even get to the 4th round.
know I said a few hours. Just texted my contact before and he wrote back "patience." If nothing happens by early tomorrow, I will admit defeat regardless of if it happens or not in the future.

Don't sweat it too much, most of us appreciate the info. We know you're not just being a troll.
think their first next year would have to be included in any deal they do. gives them valuable ammo to move up next year if need be for a franchise QB. Although next years QB looks very weak at this point.
it's pretty clear Buffalo is going to try to move up, and I could see why they would want to go to 2 since they wouldn't want anyone to jump in front of them. Still believe if your source is right, that it might be agreed in prinicple now, but wouldn't be consumated until draft day
this early before the draft. I don’t remember how early last year the eagles made their trades to move up to number 2. I would think it happens closer to the draft.
ill be tied up in meetings all morning tomorrow probably wont be back on until 1PM or so. Don't want people to think I abandoned ship if they don't hear from me for a bit.

but i'd have much more respect if his writing style wasn't frat troll.
There is one thing that is being ignored in his list of options though. Things get leaked all the time before they happen or that will never happen. Not as simple as betraying a friend or non-story.

LarmarTRX and Daddy, the name "NoGainDayne" is a playful reference to a running back from the early 2000s named Ron Dayne. Despite being the 11th overall pick in 2000 (Thrill's 10th season on BBI), he often struggled to gain yardage (career ypc 3.8). According to Sonic Youth -- a name that refers to his knack for saying words out loud to himself before he clicks 'submit' - "Dayne" and "Gain" are two words that rhyme, thus completing the satirical circle.
No GM is making decisions based off BBI threads for fucks sake. If anything they'd be prompted to check their own sources for more smoke and act off that

I mentioned earlier in the thread using the draft value chart Â
which, yes teams do still use or some variation of it.
For the #2 pick, to trade out of that spot, the Giants aren't looking for an even trade or a fair trade. That stuff can happen when swapping around 4th or 5th round picks.
For the #2 pick, any team will have to basically blow the doors off to get the Giants attention.
I don't doubt that teams are approaching the Giants about a trade. And it would make sense that the Bills will be talking to every team in the top 5 to get their QB, with the Giants being an obvious target.
However, while I think it would be strange for a team to execute a trade like this before the individual workouts are completed, when I looked back, the infamous RG III trade took place on March 12, 2012, just before the start of the league year.
So it wouldn't be out of the realm for a large similar trade (which is what this would be the equivalent) as the Redskins traded up to the #2 pick from the Rams, but they had #6 overall. The Bills have more work to do to make this happen.
true about the RGIII trade Matt, BUT, 1 variable is missing: Â

RE: I mentioned earlier in the thread using the draft value chart Â
lil Danny Snyder. The greater (GREATEST) fool theory was in force there :-)
I'm sure teams are asking, but I'd be surprised if any trades in the top 5 happen before draft day.
Snyder may be a fool, but have to remember that Mike Holgren at the time was running the Browns and whined that he would have beaten the 'Skins offer if the Rams had given them the chance. Rams told teams to make their best offers; 'Skins offered more than the Browns; and the Rams stuck to the proposal and would not listen to Browns' increased bid. [I am also old enough to remember that there were a heck of a lot of personnel men and sports writers who took the position that Leaf was a better prospect than Manning based on his upside potential being far greater.]
Never got hurt and continued to play like his rookie season that would have been a trade everyone would sign up for in a second. Remember how annoyed bbi was at the browns after the redskins beat us that year. We thought for sure that we would be second place to rg3 for the next decade. Football is a crazy sport man.

I don't know Arc, it takes a special kind of cray-cray to post like this and we know Rocky has that in spades

Rocky was not nearly as football smart as OMTR.
Don't be fooled by the schtick. He knows his shit.
Unless you get a stupid offer because someone gets desperate and nervous.
Now we get to figure out who you were... since Dave was gone long before 2016. :)
Montanagiant agress with you
In fact, Jimmy and misunderstanding... sorta clash.

Don't sweat it too much, most of us appreciate the info. We know you're not just being a troll.
No. 12 (1st, via CIN)
No. 22 (1st, via KC)
No. 53 (2nd)
No. 56 (2nd via LAR)
No. 65 (3rd, via CLE)
That would give the Giants 2 #1's, 3 #2's and 2 #3's..
That I would do.. and nothing less.. and would even push for a #1 or #2 next year...
Appreciate any info. Thanks for the hope. Look forward to you being right, or the update tomorrow

Exactly. The drop from 2 to 12 is too steep to be made up by lower draft picks. I wouldn't go any lower than 6.

Trade down for Jackson? How about no.
Why would any team trade the option of being blown away at a workout?
