NFT: NHL Playoff Thread

pjcas18 : 4/9/2018 9:39 am
I know some of you hockey fans won't watch, but I will and maybe the Devils fans on here start their own thread, but thought I'd let the other thread die and start a playoff thread.

Bruins shit the bed last night and wind up with TOR instead of NJD. Not sure they preferred one over the other or not but generally I'd prefer being the higher seed though it hasn't show much lately in terms of winning a cup.

Some compelling matchups, In the East, battle of PA, BOS vs TOR most interesting to me, but all look good.

In the West, I'm interested in seeing how LVG does and I'm not sure anyone has the talent that WIN does, but they're not playoff tested, see how that goes.

NSH is my favorite right now (going out on a limb).

I read as retribution for not sending their players to the Olympics, that NBC has put some playoff games on the Golf Channel. The f-ing Golf Channel. Pretty sure FiOS removed that a couple years ago.

A fair bit of that was on Veenyo, I'd say

In any case, though, you're right about the bottom line - the defense is almost certainly not going to be good.

This should be a long term 2-3 year rebuild, but the Rangers never go that route because god forbid Lil' Jimmy doesn't get his postseason ticket sales.

Isn’t a top 6 player.

But agree that NYR has a ton of work to do. Stockpile assets, let the kids play, and make a run at Karlsson next offseason.

Fair, but he did put up top 6 production while with NYR.

Biggest driver of a turnaround is going to be how lucky they get with the lottery. Everything else is sort of secondary.

win in the same year. Ugh...

Please. It’s not the same.

Fo rme, it's worse.
This is worse than 2004 when I lived in Boston.

Congrats to you and Tony, but aside from you two, this is the worst sports moment ever...I probably would have traded my championships to avoid having this day happen.
Makes me wish I never followed sports.
Thank god I moved to NYC when I did.

I do think AV exacerbated our issues and really just did an awful job particularly these last couple of seasons.

I think we're hopefully moving in a better direction now.

I goes without saying, but this draft is going to be massively important for the future of this franchise. This offseason in general, really.

Also, seeing how much this bothers GoldenTee actually makes me even more glad the Capitals won.
Pionk
pjcas18 : 6/8/2018 1:32 pm : link
looked good at the world championships, I think he has a role on the NYR, not sure where I'd slot him, bottom pair would be ideal, but I never gave him much thought until I watched those games.

Pionk did play pretty well on a few occasions down the stretch. I think there's probably something there.

I agree - bottom pair guy, ideally, but I think he can and should have a place on next season's team.

It has ruined the NHL for me for a long while.
Fortunately I'm in NYC.
So you would give up a titel your team won

That's insane. I would never ever give up any Giants SB wins, period.
Congrats to the Caps' fans.
