Crazy tidbit on @sticktofootball this morning... Josh Allen could go no. 1, and if he doesn't, the Bills could be looking at packaging six (6!!!) picks to move up to no. 2 to grab Josh Allen.
I always thought it was going to be either both the 1,2,3's this year or Both 1's, a #2m maybe a #3, and a #1 next year..
Id go for the package this year.. We could really bolster the roster on the offensive and defensive lines this year with the outstanding depth an interior line and DT as well...
#12, #22, 2019 and 2020. Plus a couple lower round picks. The Bills have not moved up this far to miss out on their guy. I would be thrilled if it went this way.
So long as the haul includes both 2018 #1s and the 2019 #1. The Bills have no proven NFL QB on the roster. They look primed to throw a rookie straight into the fire. That 2019 #1 could be real gold.
There are some nice players available for us right now at #2 overall, but given the orgs insistence on giving Eli some more runway, I think cashing in to stockpile some more ammo, while also getting a potential blue chip pick for next year, is a really solid plan.

So if this were true, At #2 the Giants would draft Darnold if the Browns took Allen,as Darnold is rumored to be the only QB they'd draft at #2 (who knows?) or they'd trade w/the Bills!
It's not as difficult to move up as it is to move back once the QBs are off the board. If you don't like the QBs and the Bills are offering + value for that pick, you have to take it. You then have the equity to do whatever the hell you want at the top of the draft. I'd prefer a more fluid approach to the draft than what Reese has done in the past.
Buffalo would really have to offer something nearly impossible to pass up for Gettleman to pull the trigger, IMO.
The "gold jacket" prospects are probably going to all be off the board by 12. I think Gettleman is intent on taking one of these players.
I don't know if there is a Gold Jacket guy there. The QB's are inflated, Barkley plays a position few last for a long time at and carry a high injury risk, Chubb is a good player but not necessarily a game changer.

Nelson and Fitzpatrick are both going to be gone by 12 too.
I'm fairly confident one of these guys (at least) is going to go on to have a great NFL career.
Moving out of the top 10 takes us out of the mix for these Tier 1 players.
Sure, it's always possible that the pundits are wrong about these guys but I would need a huge, huge haul to move all the way down to 12 from 2.
There are Quality players that might be available @ 12
Roquan Smith, Marcus Davenport, Derwin James, Denzel Ward could all be available @ 12 and we have a need at all those positions. Tremaine Edwards on an outside chance could be there. Vita Vea.. also
The Giants might be better served getting several GOOD players and depth..

I understand, I just look at our group and we are way way thin. I think building a solid foundation now (look at Giants 86 and 89 drafts where we picked up the core of the team for years there. **I realize we had a lot of good players already but 86 draft alone produced:
Dorsey, Collins, Johnson, Lasker, Washington and Howard
89
Williams, Jackson, Guyton, Kratch, Tillman and Cross...
But he also has the reddest of red flags with his inaccuracy and that's something that doesn't tend to improve once you make it to the pros. But he's got the work ethic, the arm talent, the size and athleticism, the smarts. This would be a fanatical "all in" move. I don't think he'll ever be a bust but rather a middle of the road QB who frustratingly never hits his ceiling. A better Jeff George (without the attitude issues)
This is like one of those Sci-Fi/Fantasy stories...
I don't believe there is anything the Bills can offer them to move out of that spot. If you really believe that player is your franchise QB - there isn't anything worth giving up for him.
Otherwise, I'd take a really strong deal (6 picks?) and move back. We've gotten some really great players outside of the top 10, and at that point I'd be looking to load up.
Fk it. Do it DG. Nine picks. This will be the most epic, spectacular, cream-your-pants draft experience - hell, any experience - on BBI. Do it. Do it. Do it.
If Darnold goes first and the Bills offer 3 first round picks and a 2nd rounder (12 in 2018, 22 in 2018, 1st in 2019, 2nd in 2019), then I am doing that in a heartbeat.
There is always going to be another Chubb, Barkley, Fitzpatrick or Nelson next year and I'm underwhelmed by Rosen, Allen and Mayfield.
They might as well. I don't see Chubb/Nelson as franchise altering players. If we're going to get a good player, I'd rather get a good player and a bunch of picks.
Why do people think next years Bills pick will be high?
Bills' fans are as obsessed as any and this isn't a tickle at Two Bills Drive.
Anything can happen but the talking heads will be filling air space from now to the draft and there is nothing to suggest that this is an advance of the ball.

Bills looking at a guy who can throw in the type of weather conditions they face there. Rosen to me is a NON Buffalo guy and Mayfield may not have the make up for that environment. Allen has a gun and the wind and weather should not hamper him there. Now, hitting the broadside of a barn is another story.
Great so we win for the next 15 years with solid to bust players in those picks because we have no qb....Great
or we draft rosen and he gets hit at some point in his career and has another concussion and stops playing football. Then we have no QB and no other players. See I can play this game too.
People are taking the Giants only like one QB thing as saying they WILL draft that QB. Them saying they like him means hed be considered. Not that hes the sure fired guy with the pick. And who said it was Darnold? Every Chris Canty, the person who started the narrative, said he doesnt know for a fact who it is but that he guesses itd be Darnold.
Must get next year's first round pick as part of any deal with the Bills.
Next year's first on what will likely be a very bad Buffalo team in 2018, plus 4 or 5 other extra picks this year, with at least one extra 2018 first rounder and second rounder this year and more, it's a good deal. But the 2019 first rounder is imperative to making the deal. That pick could end up being #1 overall, btw.
It's a podcast...

I listen to it on my Smart TV on TuneIn, so no
2 #2s
2 #3s
for ONE pick. The Giants would then have:
2 #1s
3 #2s
4 #3s
9 picks in the first 2 days!
Okay, just found it:
Link - ( New Window )
Radar is back!
Assume you're getting 12 and 22 and one of their twos.
A future first and other late rd picks?
Or is it 12, 22, two 2s and two 3s.
I mean, boy it would be hard to turn that down.
Draft day will be fun...

There's 4 QBs + Barkley, Chubb, Nelson.
I want one of those guys in round 1.
Maybe if Buffalo can get TB to bite on a move back for #12 and a combination of their #2's and #3's.
Then Buffalo is at 7, they can give us #7 and #22 and a 2019 1st.

I like Chubb/Barkley better, but Nelson or Fitzpatrick would be a nice consolation prize.

That would be the best deal.
That would give us
2 1st
3 2nd
2 3rd
And we would have 2 1st rounders next year.

2 1st

That would have to be the minimum IMO to move down that far.
The Bills need to get a top 6 overall pick to add to the package or I say no.
Only if there is a future year Kings Ransom such as the Bills first rounder in 2019 and 2020 in addition to both first rounders this year.

You're taking this gold jacket line too literally.
IF Barkley is as good as they say he is, even a shorter career can be impactful a la Terrell Davis.
As far as Nelson, Sy (not a knock on him) is just about the only scout I've read or heard who doesnt love him and think all-pro is his floor.
Agreed on Chubb, I don't believe he's in the elite tier of prospects but maybe a cut below. However, he is the highest rated 2 way DE.

I don't think I am.
He's made it clear that the goal is to get an elite player here - regardless of what position they play.
The odds of that are quite a bit slimmer if we take ourselves out of the running for all 4 QB's, Chubb, Barkley, Nelson, and Fitzpatrick.
I would bet on every single one of them being off the board by 12. It's a big risk to move down 10 spots like that.

this would probably get the deal done for me if Darnold went #1 and the Bills wanted to jump to #2 for Allen.

Now THAT could really put this team in great position to compete. Maybe we could even get an early pick out of them next year.
Plus 3-2nd rounders and 2 3rd rounders provide more solids talent or the ammo to move back into round 1.
This is a pretty good move if NYG can also get Buffalo to surrender a 2019 1st rounder.
Next year's first on what will likely be a very bad Buffalo team in 2018, plus 4 or 5 other extra picks this year, with at least one extra 2018 first rounder and second rounder this year and more, it's a good deal.
