Lance Zierlein from NFL.com basically just said that Cleveland has NO interest in Josh Rosen. Not sure he buys the smoke around Allen going #1.
Makes a big point that Allen doesn't have great "anticipation" skills at QB and may NEVER have that.
He even makes the point to say the QB's coming out, could go 1, 2, 3 and maybe and even 1-4 but that none of the QB's are in the top 4 players in the draft.
I have been of that same mindset that the QB's and their value this year is greatly inflated.
Their value every year is inflated. If you wait until the QB is the best player on the board in the draft, you're probably never drafting a QB...ever.

Yeah, BUT, this group to me just isn';t the same. You can say whatever you want to fit the narrative you want but to me the best QB of this bunch is Mayfield and the Giants don't seem like they are looking at him seriously. Rosen is way overrated here and Allen is basically no better than Webb in terms of being ready to play straight from college. Allen will need a lot of work.
Darnold has tools and the physical pieces but he is a turnover machine and that might be hard to break.
Antdog,
You heard any rumblings with regards to the visits? Chubb had a nice visit. Is the hype real or a mirage?
It's ridiculous this year though, and frankly it's not all to do with the quality of the QB's. down to the teams needing a QB even good teams. You've got the QB class of 2004 on coming into the home straight, Brady starting to make real noises about calling it quits, Brees on his final two years most probably.
I mean you can make the case for all the following teams needing a QB at some point in the draft.
Browns,
Giants,
Jets,
Denver,
Miami,
Chargers,
Bills,
Arizona,
Baltimore,
Bengals,
Steelers,
Saints,
Jacksonville,
New England
I wouldn't be surprised if 6 QB's (Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Mayfield, Jackson and Rudolph) go in the first round if Rudolph sneaks in there. The other factor which is pushing the QB's up is that after the first 12 or so players it's a reasonably flat draft talent wise between the middle of the 1st round to the middle of the 3rd. According to MMQB, one NFL exec talking about a Giants trade with the Bills said "The problem is that the 22nd pick might as well be in the third round." It's a deep draft with good, if not a lot of exceptional prospects.

always get drafted higher than they should. Frequently, much higher.

Excellent analysis. That's also why I don't want to trade down with Buffalo. A few blue chip prospects, and a sea of red chippers.
I have not been for Rosen at all and continue to be anti Rosen. Way too much there that just leaves me feeling MEH...
I think that this occurs every year but this year the Giants pick second and have the opportunity to draft a premier player
While experts have completely differing opinions about all of the prospects
This is an excellent draft compared to others
There are more quality players and a greater depth of quality players than in previous years
I heard on Sirius NFL radio that the consensus was that the top 5 QBs including Jackson would be first round picks in any draft
I meant narrative in general and not specifically you. I think this group is way over hyped out of fear than actual talent and result. We shall see.
