The throw from 2nd to home, which was blown, could have been made by any little leaguer.
Would you want fans of other teams jumping on our threads when the Mets are struggling to jam their unsolicited opinions about our team in our faces?
Probably not, right?
Don't be a douche.
I'm watching this game because the Mets are off.
The Yankees have PLENTY of talent and will be absolutely fine. It's April 12.
No argument from me. Yankees are a better team.
Lighten up.
I'm just saying - you're only going to agitate people with posts like that. I don't think anyone here really cares what a Mets fan thinks of their team.
Anyway, sorry for de-railing this thread dudes - I'm watching the game so I just opened the thread for the hell of it.
If I were a Yankee fan I would be clamoring for Girardi. There is nothing at all wrong with the offense on that team.
Pitching is suspect.
The pitching is definitely suspect and I blame Cashman for that. I'll praise the good moves he's made but I'll also blame him for not doing more for the pitching staff.
But freaking out about the offense and Boone so early in the season is silly. If they were 2-9 right now then I could maybe see it. But Boone could settle in and learn the players better and the lineup is banged up, plus half of them are just cold and it's still early.
No excuse for this pitching, though. There's no excuse for not going for Cole. Gray is a #4 or #5 guy and they went into the season acting like he's a 2 or 3. They need another 1/2 type.
The Yankees offense will come around but the pitching is a question mark. Gray sucks.
but I really don't like the way the Yanks look. They look like trash. If the Yankees lineup can't hit against Porcello, I don't know what to say?! Porcello must be the best pitcher in the Mlb?! Even Sale allowed a HR.. pathetic.

Not that you are wrong, but what is today's date? In 1998, they were 6-4 on this date. Last year they were 4-4.
i'm shocked they are yanking Gray. He is dogshit tonight but 68 pitches?
German is in. It's friggin pouring rain.
Another bullpen killing move by Boone. When Cashman got Gray from Oakland his primary attribute was that he was a horse. He wasn't lights out there, but he pitched innings and went deep in games. Here Boone gives him the early hook two games in a row.
I read that Boone is the first manager since Lou Pinella that didn't have minor league experience . It shows. Anybody that can remember those dark days saw Pinella abusing the pitchers and making bonehead moves. Another thing: Torreyes hit something like .350 against lefties last year and he's been hitting well this year. Didn't Mr. Analytics see that ? Why was he not in the lineup against Sale and Price ?
I can live with 6-7 on April 12, but I was scratching my head when Cashman hired this guy. Right now it looks like a dreadful mistake.
contract. Hal is getting under the 197 no matter what. As far as Cole goes most people who post here didn't want him and didn't want to trade Andujar for him.
Looks like Gray got an undeserved reputation as a high quality pitcher Â
and he is if you send him out against bottom dwellers like the Marlins. Guy would look like Koufax.
Boone looks over his head. Glad he can communicate with the press and players.
Judge looks like he is taking another step if that's possible . Last year I think Sales ate him up. This year it was the other way. Maybe just luck but I wouldn't bet on it.
Did still growing and improving. Its early but he really look more and more like the real deal
This pattern of holding back players to get 7 years of control is a possible mistake . When the players union negotiates a new deal in 2021 this loop hole will be closed and likely retroactive to guys that are now playing.
... Sonny Gray is not a true #1 or #2 for the Yankees. He is a borderline #2 and probably a good 3/4. Of course he is better than this. He is good pitcher, though probably not in the Verlander/Cole class. Cashman got him because he was cheap, not because he was better than the other guys on the market, Darvish/Verlander. We got the cheap guy. But that's ok if he's a mid rotation guy.
If Sonny Gray is the Yanks' second best pitcher this season we're not winning anything this year.
He's really more like a #4. I'm just hoping they can swing a trade for a guy who can be right up there with Severino as a potential ace type. Sev/?/Tanaka/Gray/Sabathia would be ideal. There are always injuries so Montgomery would get plenty of action too for those who love him.

well let's face it.. the yanks arrived early last year. they got lucky. this was supposed to be the year they started to come around. And now we have all these expectations. Do you want to give up the farm for an ace? Cause that is what it is going to cost. I don't. I want to see them build this thing out a little. Let's think long term .. that's my opinion anyway.
takes forever to deliver, puts the defense to sleep. Cone was very enlightening about him not even thinking about the inside corner fastball with 2 strikes. He couldn't hit a spot for anything last night. Gary down and in, Sonny up and away. WPs. UGH. Not a fan.
Wade looks bad, but he's still a kid. The Bird injury is really hurting them. Bird at 1B lets Walker play 2B, puts Wade on the bench. Stanton needs to be a DH at Fenway. The only thing worse than having him in LF there would be having him in RF. Could you imagine him trying to navigate the RF corner?! On the plus side, he had another hit.
They didn't seem to have much fire last night. I thought they would be a little more "up" after the fight and big win.

Go root for your own team.
Completely overmatched at this level.
AAAA player.

I am a Mets fan, but I like to see the Yankees win. I am a Giants fan, but I like to see the Jets win. Call me crazy
The one doesn't have anything to do with the other. I wish Kap, Mateo and Fowler all the success in the world.
Lots of baseball to go.
Go root for your own team.
I respect that. I didn't mean to be critical but I can see how any comments are unwelcome...later...
Outclassed.
Down 6 before anyone in the lineup gets a damn hit. Early night for me I guess.
German is in. It's friggin pouring rain.
I read someplace recently a comparison to Phil Hughes. Sadly, it fits. Nibbles and his stuff is inconsistent from start to start.

They cant keep trotting him out there he looks lost.
There is no such thing as a 23 year old AAAA player who has already played at the MLB level.
