RD1 - I know Josh Allen is a guy that creates a lot of animated discussion, but if they can just use this premium pick to identify the next franchise QB, that would be great. I happen to be very intrigued by Allen but I would certainly be happy with any of the oft discussed QBs at 2. For the sake of the mock, let's say the pick = Sam Darnold.
RD2 - If Minkah Fitpatrick is categorized as a safety, I think Carlton Davis is the best CB in the draft (I know the consensus is Denzel Ward). While OL may indeed be the proper call here, I'm going Davis here.
RD3a - I see Austin Corbett as an OG that doesn't get as much love as Hernandez/Smith etc. but I think he is right there. I view him as a Day 1 starter with outstanding fundamentals already in his game. Football IQ, requisite size/strength/athleticism are all there.
RD3b - I am hoping we can add a play making LB with coverage ability. The ideal choice, especially at this point in the draft, is Darius Leonard. I think it is reasonable that he is here but Oren Burks would be my consolation prize if not.
RD4 - DE Duke Ejiofor is a Robert Ayers type DE that has a mature approach and has the type of size attributes for a 3/4, along with the intelligence and well developed skill set that would allow him to thrive in Bettcher's D.
RD5 - I want to go back to OL here because its such a problem. With Solder at LT and the winner of Flowers/Wheeler at RT (loser will be swing OT) and a dearth of good OTs in this draft, I'm going back to OG. Tony Adams is a guy I like. 6'2' and 322. Very polished (dad is an OL coach), great feet (was a state tennis champ) and srtength. He's a little boxy in build and short armed but thats why he falls to RD5.
Summary:
RD1 - QB Sam Darnold
RD2 - CB Carlton Davis
RD3a - OG Austin Corbett
RD3b - LB Darius Leonard
RD 4 - DE Duke Ejiofor
RD5 - OG Tony Adams
Leaves us with a depth chart that looks something like this:
QB: Eli, Darnold, Webb
RB: Gallman, Perkins, Stewart
WR: OBJ, Marshall, Shep, Lewis, Lattimer
TE: Engram, Ellison, Adams
OT: Solder, Flowers, Wheeler
OG: Omameh, Corbett, Greco, Adams
C: Jones
*we know much of this is debatable position wise given JBs unique D structure
DE: OV, Moss, Mauro, Ejiofor
DT: Snacks, Tomlinson, Thomas
LB: Ogletree, Goodson, Martin, Leonard, Munson
CB: Jackrabbit, Apple, Davis, Riley/Webb
S: Collins, Gay, Adams, Thompson
It looks like your depth chart assumes the Giants will play a 4-3 base defense. You need to identify the 7 guys who will be on the field for most of the snaps and stop worrying about whether guys are DTs, DEs, or LBs.
Geez I haven’t thought about my DTs in many years.
Jones/Halapio

* right, but I did state "*we know much of this is debatable position wise given JBs unique D structure "

Correct. Also, I've thought of Brian Allen of Mich St as a possible UDFA (perhaps I am just connecting too many dots re: a guy that played Shurmur's position at Shurmur's alma mater and the fact that Allen will be a late pick or priority UDFA). I happen to think he's the type of personality and play style that would be welcomed by this regime.
RD2 - CB Carlton Davis -- Xavier Rhodes (Vikings)
RD3a - OG Austin Corbett -- Joel Bitonio (Browns)
RD3b - LB Darius Leonard -- Deion Jones (Falcons)
RD 4 - DE Duke Ejiofor -- Robert Ayers
RD5 - OG Tony Adams -- Ted Larsen (Dolphins)
But those guys are getting more and more talked about.

How would you compare Ragnow w Price? I haven't seen much of Ragnow but all his scouting profiles seem impressive.

and Frank Ragnow in the 3rd.

Probably a better question for Sy for real nuts and bolts analysis. Ohio State has a track record of putting offensive linemen into the NFL who are prepared to play a pro-style game and contribute quickly. But Ragnow was exceptionally dominant at his level for a long time.

Why do you say 4-3? Vernon and Martin will be linebackers.
