When Eli was drafted by San Diego he refused to play for them for reasons other than money. I know that there have been some hold outs since then, but the issues always involved money. Has any other first rounder flat out refused to play for the team that drafted them ?
Okay, that was funny!
classic...
History just keeps getting twisted.
Geez, Eli was a Charger for about half an hour. Granted, he threatened to not play for them, but that's different.

FMIC, I respect your takes, but come on - he definitely refused to play for San Diego. He even threatened to go to law school instead of playing football, IIRC.
Here's what ron said:
Hold outs? Refused to play for them after being drafted?
The guy was a Charger for less than an hour.
Ron from Ninerland is absolutely correct. The Poor Little Eli Campaign was out in full force prior to the draft - led by Papa Arch and Tom Condon - specifically saying Eli would not play for San Diego, and they named GM AJ Smith as a reason.
Papa Arch didn't want his youngest, spoiled son to possibly have the same career as Papa Arch had in New Orleans. It worked. You have to give Team Eli credit. But it was the height of arrogance...
And frankly, I'm not quite sure this doesn't happen more because the blueprint has been laid out by Elway and Eli.

Fair enough. And the two of them are worthy of trivia that will win anyone a free drink in a bar debate:
What QB, drafted by the Giants, has the most passing yards? (Rivers).
What QB, drafted by the Chargers, was the first to start and win a Super Bowl? (Eli).
No
