Well see. I personally would be shocked if its Rosen. One of us will be very wrong. To me its Barkley, Chubb or trade down. Only qb I could see is Darnold. Time will tell

indeed.. i am just guessing of course on Rosen. I do think Gettleman knows better than to take a RB at 2, especially with QB as such a pressing need. If he is dead set to not draft a qb he has to trade back. But I think it is cowardly not to start the Giants move into the next era. There will be a qb there that can help us and Dg and PS have to man up and figure out who that is.
Also I am very intrigued that there has been a huge silence from Giants-land regarding Rosen and Mayfield. We hear they love Darnold, Barkley, Chubb, Nelson, Allen... but nothing on those two. Meanwhile Jets, Bills, Pats, Broncos beat writers are salivating over those two.
It is my theory that the Giants are being coy, and I believe the pick will be one of those two - Rosen or Mayfield.

They have met with Mayfield like 4 times and went out to dinner with him last week. They have also had dinner with Rosen.

yes i know they are meeting with these guys.. but the silence on how they feel about them is deafening. there is just nothing about these two, whereas there are lots of leaks about the 3 big non qbs and darnold. i dunno, just a hunch.

Its funny how Giants fans want it both ways..
1) They want there to be no leaks, and they want the Giants to use misdirection so teams cant know what the Giants are going to do and then use it against them.
2) But then they want news regarding what the Giants are going to do..

I have no dog in the fight.. I just care that they get the right player> Ive liked Barkley, Darnold, and am liking Chubb more and more..
I dont believe they should just draft ANY Qb because there are QB's available.. they need to draft teh right QB that they have a conviction on.. only they know who that QB is for them..
Draft any of them.. trade down and get a gaggle of picks.. all works.. just draft good players no matter where you find them..

Of course we need a good QB and not just any guy. But the top 3 of these prospects are not just any guy and possibly all 4 will be stars.
Please also note that an average top-12 QB is more valuable than the best RB in the nfl and probably more valuable than the best G or EDGE player.
RE: RE: Whenever I read about Allen, I think of Phil Simms as a draftee Â
He struggled for 4 seasons before he made himself into a strong QB.
Allen is bigger than Simms but so is the rest of the league. He needs a lot of work and must be self motivated.
I don't think a Phil Simms can happen in this league. Guys don't get 4 seasons. That's a full rookie contract in a lot of cases.
Its unfortunate, but I agree with you on this... In today's league, Simms might not have even made it to the end of his rookie contract. His first 3 seasons he had 39 TDs, 42 Ints, and QB Rates of 66, 58, and 74, Was Benched in favor of Brunner in his 4th season. Nowadays he would just be released...
RE: RE: Barkley is going to look good in Giants blue Â
you plan to give 15-18 carries and 3-5 catches a game, then you'd be much better off waiting for another guy imo.
Whoever takes Barkely should be committed to throwing him the ball 8-10 times a game, really in the Marshall Faulk mold, or you're wasting his skills.
If Shurmur isn't willing to make that kind of committment, then just draft Chubb or somebody, because Barkely is a fine runner but what sets him apart and makes him special are his skills as a receiver.
better day one. Not only on offense but allows the defense to get longer rest periods. Defense was worn out last year and lashed out. With Barkley, OBJ, Engram and Shep. you do not need this superstar do it all QB (None in this group) are anyway and are still years away from playing.

You two aren't taking into account how different the passing game was then, also players are coached better in reference to passing then they were then imo. Simms would have had the benefit of today's coaching and rules, which means he also comes out of college more refined. Simms would be an excellent QB in today's game.

Barkley .. haha.. you must think Gettleman is quite stupid.

In that order. Unless the giants really feel like allen is too risky and too much of a project go ahead and grab Barkley.
