this season finale served as a series finale for me.
they lost me completely.. Mind you this past season, i was only watching some recaps or reading it. But this now furthers it to not watch at all.
Im sorry but making maggie a villian now?? come on. I can predict this already. The 1st half of the season will be maggie trying to one up rick and then the 1st half finale will be maggie dying by the whisperers. (since she is leaving the show)
the writing is horrible. Holy shit was it bad.
As for Fear, It was nice to see that Morgan joined the group after the events from the War. So its the same timeline.
I've always thought the writers and directors were arrogant and more concerned about impressing themselves than producing something viewers enjoy. I am hard pressed to remember a single episode this season that stood out for being outstanding.
You'd figure the character leading up to a big show down with Negan, would you know, carry an extra gun or extra bullets? Once I saw he was out of bullets yet again, I told my wife, that I'm done with this show. I'll watch if she wants to continue but it's not on my list of show that I want to regularly follow anymore.

So the threat next season is Maggie and Darryl? They want to kill Negan so bad they will start a war with their own people? How did the peace and love Jesus suddenly become a guy who wants to start a war with people for showing mercy?
Do they still pay the people who write this? They really shouldn't.

Homeland sucks too now, but like TWD I still watch. These 7/8 season long shows are all terrible when they get to this point. Awful plot points are inserted to move along woh the same characters that they can’t get rid of or recast because it will hurt viewership. Rinse, repeat.

It had a nice run, I don't see it lasting much beyond next year.

They decided to follow the comics on this which, having read them, isn't the way I would have gone. The comics have been a drag for about 4 years now. I wouldn't expect anything better from TWD/FWD unless they are committed to a soft-reboot.
