read anything more about him tipping his pitches? It seemed pretty clear he was loading up differently when throwing his FB and SL.
8-2 or so would be nice. Time for pitching to settle in

His outing wasn't horrific but his numbers took a beating in Boston.

Boone also suggested that he may have been tipping his pitches. They worked with him over the week to find the errors. Not the first time it's been pointed out that he tipped his pitches. Happened last year as well.
Not a bad idea I know cleveland is in Puerto Rico. Should of played there earlier though.
Teams seem more paranoid than ever about sign stealing...can’t be without reason
3-0
Who'd a thunk it a year ago.
Stanton didn’t say anything, but didn’t look happy

Right, a Quad A pitcher throws at Stanton because you think they were looking weird at him...that is a little weird.

I have a feeling that was with purpose, the Marlins were being weird in the 1st inning when Stanton was on 2B, I think they thought he was relaying signs.

Hey I’ve got no problem if you disagree, I’m just watching the game and commenting. In the first inning both the catcher and pitching coach made visits to discuss signs while Stanton was on second. Then the pitcher made a fake pickoff attempt on Stanton with nobody fielder in the vicinity, the bases loaded and 2 outs, which made no baseball sense.
Obviously, that could simply be bc their starter was having a case of the sucks. Regardless, Stanton didn’t make an issue of the HBP so don’t think there’s anything further to it.
Only reason it registered for me is I’ve found it interesting reading some stories recently about how paranoid teams are with sign stealing. Some teams are commonly accused of using video.
I listen to MLB Radio a lot when in the car, some former player recently was saying sign stealing by runners on second is still common...the runner will lean one way or another, or turn their head right or left to indicate fastball/breaking ball or inside/outside
Only when it’s by a Red Sox pitcher:)
Quote:
He backed off 2 or 3 times. He is not throwing at Stanton as a minor league call up. Stanton wouldn't say a thing unless he thought he was being thrown at. He didn't bitch to Bour when he got to 1st and Bour is a friend of his (via Marlin's TV.) Not every HBP is intentional.
Only when it’s by a Red Sox pitcher:)
Yeah, that's true.
To be fair, these pitchers should be in AA. I’d like to see Andujar put together some good ABs against quality MLB pitching before feeling too good, but hopefully that will come
Only 86 pitches. Boone is too quick to pull people.
Why? Just get in, get out and end the game. He's 23 or 24.
30 pitches..
If Sony Grey gets to pitch Wednesday he might pitch into the 8th with a shutout

I'd be ecstatic he gets thru 6. He needs a boot up his ass. He has great stuff there is no reason for him to play games with corners until he gets better control.
Getting paid well to do it, so don’t feel that bad, but still
Throws 92 to 95 and all kinds of junk. He should be similar to Jimmy Key or Mussina. Rothschild just needs to jump his shit and tell him to throw strikes.

Gleyber Torres is not being called up by the #Yankees...yet. He was pulled earlier from Triple-A game after feeling a little stiff, sources tell @JonHeyman and me.
translation - can't risk injury because he is no more than a week away.
Besides that, Shreve nibbling against scrubs.
Pags!! Loved how they’d always play that little Italian tune when he’d come to the plate
In other news, our bullpen is still really aggravating

That's kind of how I read it too.
SO shithead immediately throws a ball.
Trifecta for tonight. Do it Boone, do it!
Helps when the Marlins hitter doesn’t bother to swing!

Well Warren and Shreve set them up throwing balls!
Happy I was very wrong about that!

50 was too high. Had you said 30......
*Judge awesome, had 3hits and was robbed of a 4th.
*Sanchez is back. 3 hits again. Should be over the Mendoza line tonight at this pace.
*Didi is Didi. Keeps getting it done. His lefty power is important in this lineup.
Wanna know something funny about Didi's incredible start to the season? He's hitting .327 with a BAbip of only .256 - he's actually been unlucky at the plate.
I was going to say that, but we all know who the culprits are and they are no one worth acknowledging.
Sanchez: 5 games, 8-22, 3 2B, 2 HR, .364/.391/.773
Andujar: 4 games, 4-16, 3 2B, 1 3B, .250/.294/.563 - baby steps
Gardner: 4 games, 6-16, 1 2B, .375/.500/.438
Walker is ice cold too, 2-17, two singles, no walks: .118/.118/.118
Aside from some disagreement with Boone pulling Severino after 6 and Warren and Shreve unable to find the strike zone (not Boone's fault), just what was so negative?

Yeah, but unless Torres actually pulled something last night, one of these guys (probably Wade) will be gone by May 1 latest.

Unreal. His body is breaking down fast. Only good news is that once Frazier gets well, he will be the 4th/5th OF.
Have to feel bad for Ellsbury.

Ellsbury has a THIRD injury now, plantar fasciatis, the SECOND incurred while rehabbing the original oblique injury.

Yes, to a point. He's goy $68 mill coming in to help him feel better. :-)
From our selfish fan standpoint, that f'ing contract is an albatross and he takes up a valuable spot on the 40 man roster.
this too

Ranks up there with the Pujols contract as worst ever. For somebody rehabbing, he seems to be getting more weird injuries than what would be believable. Wonder if he is pulling Cashman's chain?
UGH!
Whenever the Yankees make an obviously awful decision I just assume Levine is at the bottom of it.
That's a good point. But at least Hal seems to be a guy who is reasonable and willing to listen and learn. Can you imagine if Hank-en-Stein was still in charge? We'd have the Ellsbury AND the Pujols contracts :-) And God knows what else.
Ellsbury as a Yankee: .264/.330/.386, many DL visits. All for the low low price of $150 million!
McCann and Beltran were at least reasonably productive and they were able to turn them into three good pitching prospects in Abreu, Guzman and Tate. Beltran's leadership clearly left a positive impression as well, considering he got a managerial interview right after retiring.
There is not a single positive from this Ellsbury contract. It's immovable, he's an average player at best when he does manage to get in. And the frustrating part is most knew this at the time. It was not hard to envision things playing out this way. I wish we could get the real story and why it happened. Because it runs contrary to everything Cashman has done recently.
THIS!!!!!!! McAnn and Beltran were short term fixes with short, tradeable contracts. Ellsbury was just ridiculous. 7 years for an injury case with 1 gerat year out of 7.
Proof that a stopped watch is right twice a day. :-)
Stupid thing was they had the exact same player on the team already in Gardner. And while Ells may have had a touch more power and was a better base stealer, Gardner was better in every other way, especially defense. Yep, definitely a panic move over Cano signing in Seattle (which I had no problem with for that much money.) I know I'm biased, but Gardner was always the better player because of reliability and defense.

Ellsbury was a terrible mistake. They paid him as if they expected him to repeat his 2011 season instead of seeing it as the massive fluke that it was. They also paid top dollar for a guy who was frequently injured as he headed into his age 30 season, as if he would get more durable with age for some reason.

Gardy’s also always been a popular clubhouse/team leader guy. Ellsbury, while never being a bad guy, has always seemed to be quiet and kinda weird.
