This is the Yanks best offensive lineup with

very happy

to get Stanton out of the field so he can focus on his boomsticking.
Hoping for a lights out performance by Sevy.

His outing wasn't horrific but his numbers took a beating in Boston.

read anything more about him tipping his pitches? It seemed pretty clear he was loading up differently when throwing his FB and SL.
10-game homestand starts tonight.

Two against Miami, four against Toronto, four against Minny. Let's start kicking ass.

8-2 or so would be nice. Time for pitching to settle in

Boone also suggested that he may have been tipping his pitches. They worked with him over the week to find the errors. Not the first time it's been pointed out that he tipped his pitches. Happened last year as well.
The crowd is terrible. Empty seats everywhere.
Ace718 : 4/16/2018 6:43 pm : link
Weather has been cold and wet so makes sense. Pulse the 6;35 start could also be a reason.
Stands are empty.

They need to start in may.
24 postponements already

time to start scheduling more double-headers next year. It would also be fun to have the first two weeks of games in Caribbean or Asian countries.
Nice inning for Sevy.

Hit 99 on the swinging strike 3 to Castro.
Judge should change his jersey number to

Good AB by Stanton too

Looks like he’s seeing the ball well, only swung at strikes

Not a bad idea I know cleveland is in Puerto Rico. Should of played there earlier though.
terrible popup by Didi

Austin with a good

AB to work the walk. Hope Andujar is patient.
Great AB by Austin drawing the walk and RBI
mfsd : 4/16/2018 7:11 pm : link
Marlins pitcher and catcher seemed bothered by Stanton at second base, as if he was relaying signs

Teams seem more paranoid than ever about sign stealing...can’t be without reason
Well Andujar swung

himself out of a couple walks..Needs more seasoning.
Really should've score more runs there but I'll take it.
Ace718 : 4/16/2018 7:16 pm : link
Also, Austin looks good at the plate. He should be the 1B almost everyday till Bird is back.
Looks like a spring training
section125 : 4/16/2018 7:26 pm : link
game for Severino working on sliders and changeups. 35 pitches to the Marlins in 2 innings is not good. He should be able to go at least 7 innings and probably 9 against these guys.
no deception in Smith's

Great sign for Judge, easy swing, didn’t try to pull, really just a fly ball but he’s too strong for most MLB ballparks
Judge has quietly been awesome this year.

Marlin's feed because of MLB rules, but they were laughing at Judge's stats (in a good way) - 16 for 49 in the 12 game hitting streak, but add in 12 walks. Pretty decent announcers, too. They talk a touch too much, but not mindless drivel.

Stanton took a fastball in the knee before Didi’s HR

I have a feeling that was with purpose, the Marlins were being weird in the 1st inning when Stanton was on 2B, I think they thought he was relaying signs.

Stanton didn’t say anything, but didn’t look happy

Right, a Quad A pitcher throws at Stanton because you think they were looking weird at him...that is a little weird.
Does that make

Hey I’ve got no problem if you disagree, I’m just watching the game and commenting. In the first inning both the catcher and pitching coach made visits to discuss signs while Stanton was on second. Then the pitcher made a fake pickoff attempt on Stanton with nobody fielder in the vicinity, the bases loaded and 2 outs, which made no baseball sense.

Obviously, that could simply be bc their starter was having a case of the sucks. Regardless, Stanton didn’t make an issue of the HBP so don’t think there’s anything further to it.

Only reason it registered for me is I’ve found it interesting reading some stories recently about how paranoid teams are with sign stealing. Some teams are commonly accused of using video.

I listen to MLB Radio a lot when in the car, some former player recently was saying sign stealing by runners on second is still common...the runner will lean one way or another, or turn their head right or left to indicate fastball/breaking ball or inside/outside
This is turning into a much needed stat booster game
mfsd : 4/16/2018 8:50 pm : link
Nothing like a rain out weekend for the team to get their shit together
That pitcher didn't want to throw the ball.
section125 : 4/16/2018 8:55 pm : link
He backed off 2 or 3 times. He is not throwing at Stanton as a minor league call up. Stanton wouldn't say a thing unless he thought he was being thrown at. He didn't bitch to Bour when he got to 1st and Bour is a friend of his (via Marlin's TV.) Not every HBP is intentional.

Only when it’s by a Red Sox pitcher:)
Second double of the night for Andujar.

I guess Torres will get more time in the minors if Andujar has found his stroke.
