Now(Barkley) vs Future(QB)

BeckShepEli : 4/16/2018 4:48 pm
I would say this board is 65-35 on QB in the draft vs Barkley/Chubb. I want to ask this question.

If you were guaranteed to win a Super Bowl in the next 4 years with taking Barkley would you take that or would you take 12-15 solid years out of a QB Darnold/Rosen/Allen with no guarantees of a SB?
This hypothetical STINKS

kind of person. There are no guarantees I'll be alive tomorrow, so I take the SB with Barkley 10 out of 10 times in this hypothetical.

For what it's worth, Sean Payton doesn't see one in the group either. He said there's definitely not a Luck or Wentz in this group.

Thinks maybe one will be left standing in four years and that one would most likely be Darnold.

if you take Saquon Barkley

you are guaranteed to have an SB every year he's on the roster.

Rivers-type career? I'll take the championship.
With the way the OP phrases the question then that's easy.
Blue21 : 4/16/2018 6:26 pm : link
Barkley is the choice. Which also means another QB took us there.
Better question is would you give

Maybe I should start the following thread...

If you were guaranteed to be a mediocre for the next 4 years with taking Barkley and having no QB, would you take that or would you take 12-15 solid years out of a QB Darnold/Rosen/Allen and opportunities to be competitive over the long term?

Just saying ...

In the end, you're generally best off taking the better player

Who in their right mind would take 12-15 years of coming up short?
Hypothetical?
FStubbs : 4/16/2018 9:02 pm : link
Of course under this scenario you take Barkley.

If you told me that we'd draft Barkley #2 overall, win the Superbowl, and then Barkley would retire after one year of football, guess what? I'd still draft Barkley. The goal is to win the Superbowl.
