Couple of notes from recent Mets extended spring games:
RHP Christian James has looked very good, tons of upside here as hes been hitting mid-90s with fastball and mid-80s with slider.
Infield Yoel Romero has looked good with bat and defensively. He had .903 OPS last year.
As I said the other night, Fermin is off to a monster start for a slap hitter who cant run... I think he even stole a base last night.
Drew Smith was called up to Vegas
Frame and overstated velocity reports.
Size and stuff have always led to high strikeout numbers and making it difficult to hit against, but like many big pitchers he can't repeat his delivery which leads to high walk numbers. If he ever can get it all moving in right direction consistently he has a lot of upside.
