ran 4.41 forty and 40 inch vertical. A quote I found,"C.J. Goodwin is probably the favorite for the number 4 spot. The converted wide receiver has been shining at camp, and has transitioned to his new position stunningly well."
It does show you how bad our roster is that we picked up three people today that were cut by other teams this week. It's May, not early September.
That's not what we're being sold. We're a win-now team according to our GM and head coach. In fact, many people on this website are delusional enough to think we have a playoff roster in a loaded NFC.
We've got an odd roster. We have some really good players, but the bottom third of the roster (and perhaps even the bottom half) simply isn't very good.
It's going to be fascinating to look at the roster in September and count how many people on it were here last December.
He understands the bottom of the roster. He usually unearths a few gems per year too who end up being big contributors. Kevin Boothe, Madison Hedgeweiner, Domenik Hixon, some other guy and this one dude and oh that person.
Look we all know our roster depth stinks but I'm glad they made the moves today. If the players turn out to be better ( or better fit)than the guys they replaced all the better. Yes I know I'm Captain Obvious but even a small improvement is a positive
Things will pay off down the line, when we have 2nd dibs on what are likely to be pretty useful players.
No argument here and being #2 on the waiver wire helps. But two of the three guys we signed passed through waivers and were unclaimed.
Sign of a good team is one that cuts players and sees them getting picked up. Sign of a bad team is one that keeps picking up castoffs. Again, we're in May here, not September. Makes me think we're going to be particularly active all through September picking up player cuts.

I think some of that can be attributed to the fact that the Giants have a new GM and coaching staff in place, so the roster is going to experience a lot of turnover. These moves are an attempt to upgrade the bottom of the roster. Goodwin has familiarity with Bettcher so it makes sense to bring a guy like him in even if he is just a camp body.
Could also mean, they have the #2 slot in waiver wire order Â

While I agree in principle, the Patriots have probably made more waiver wire transactions than anyone else in the league over the last 10 years. They're constantly churning the bottom of their roster.
Can we send him and like 25 others bad to the list and become blind and deaf for like 72 hour's? We have to have the league record number of players 25 to 30+ years old with little or no real NFL experience.
It's May 3rd By September 9th,we won't remember that Â
many of these additions were on the roster,it happens every year. As someone said, players are unearthed every season from when they were a JAG on one team & then become a contributor on another based on the system. No harm in trying!
and MacAdoo is a really bad head coach - how in the world did they go 11-5 just one season ago???
They just hired a new head coach and coordinators, who bring a different philosophy - there's going to be turnover in personal.
IMO, the roster last year was mainly scuttled by injury, exposing Mac as not being a very good coach. Having said that, if they get there 4 top WR out for the year by week 5......

The season was going awful before the injury bug really hit us.
Well Green Bay converted a WR to CB.....

remember Sam Shields? He was a Pro Bowl Corner.....you never know, especially with a guy that has speed and knows how a WR thinks.
Shields converted to a CB while at the U and entered the draft as a DB. He wasn't drafted however.

I think that. And, I don't feel the least bit delusional.
is exactly why we could afford to purchase a shiny, new sports car (Barkley)...we don't have a garage to put it in right now.
Should have traded down..we have bodies...none of which are able...
Collecting bodies also seems to be DG plan for QB of the future...

He's a former WR. The Falcons converted him to CB in 2016.
Thanks for heading that one off at the pass. I was about to buy some balloons.
Yup. Bodies, bodies, bodies.

C J Goodwin pro day - ( New Window )
That's a different CJ Goodwin

Or maybe the same, but I don't see any evidence that he went to Rutgers?

Pro day he was measured. Unlikely he grew at his age.

nfl.com has him listed at 6'4 so
That's the ticket.

I always have believed Eli can still play, just Preferred to have them begin the new era.
But I am excited to see what Eli can do in the next few years
