to be saying entirely too much. Even if Flowers and Apple are total cancers for the team, why verbalize it and kill any trade value they could have? Other teams do t need to know about player issues in house. I like Collins but he has to shut up.

Of course if you want to take the Machiavellian side, one could think that management told him to say those things in order to send a message to Flowers. I don't think this is the case, but it is possible.

Collins seems like a guy who has the right intentions and does have leadership qualities - I think he's just a little too loose-lipped. It's not a huge deal. It just seems like he airs out stuff he shouldn't sometimes. He'll learn. The talent outweighs this issue by a ton so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. He's the least of our problems.

And for what it's worth, he was one of the last guys to keep saying he believed in McAdoo and didn't think the coach was the problem last year.

We all knew McAdoo was part of the problem and I'm sure Landon did too - but I thought he did well in terms of not letting anything he said become a story. He said all the right stuff.

it's hard to come to that conclusion. If anything, he was defending Eli. And in Flowers case, he is responding to a direct question about Flowers not being there as best he can. It's hardly breaking news that Flowers is upset that he lost his spot to Nate Solder.

He answers the questions pretty honestly and does his best not to throw people under the bus.

The story is Flowers staying home and sulking because they brought in a player to protect Eli, a player who has made it to the Pro Bowl. And, they did so because of Flowers' unsatisfactory play.

Have all proven to be locker room cancers. Maybe he’s trying to weed out the guys messing up the team chemistry and he’s willing to put his name on it unlike most others that ask for anonymity. When he starts stirring shit with good players, then I’ll worry.

I couldn't agree more. I watched the interview twice and Collins is not a snitch. Flowers is supposed to be a pro. So show the team that you are strong player that can get the job done. Play your ass off and you will start (RT) and prove that you deserve a big contract next year here or somewhere else.

Landon may be stepping up to a leadership role and sending a public message to Flowers after a private contact failed. It's been said that Flowers may be immature at 23, but I don't think the NYG want any part of immaturity at such a critical position if it carries over onto the field (practice habits, listening to coach's advice etc.) Ereck seems to epitomize the exact opposite of what Gettleman and Shurmer have defined as players they want on the team; those who hate to lose and want to leave it all on the field.

Collins should not have disclosed what he heard from his cousin about Flowers. First, he didn’t speak directly with Flowers, so why repeat speculation from someone else? Second, even if he knew Flowers was upset because of the Soldier signing, what is to be gained by saying that publicly? Let the new regime deal with Flowers publicly, he can say what he wants to Flowers privately. I think Collins needs to be smarter when talking to the media. I think he will learn.

Collins is one of the best players on NY Giants .. I e a STAR player in the biggest media market . of course he will get asked questions and probably answer them.
