Shurmur beat the Giants as HC

NY-Fan : 5/5/2018 4:09 pm
I totally forgot about that game. The Eagles beat the Giants 35-30 last game of the 2015 season. Shurmur was the HC after taking over for Kelly and it was against Coughlin. I also went back to look at Shurmur’s teams when he was with the Browns and he was working with a really bad roster. Especially on offense with QB, RB and WR. Don’t know who would have succeeded with that group. I just get the feeling he will have better success the second time around.
The last time NYG scored 30 points

With the Browns and beat Parcells.

This idea that Belichick was an abject failure with the Browns is a narrative I disagree with.

His final season with the Browns leaving Cleveland has to be discounted nobody was going to have success with that mess.

But the year prior he was beginning to turn them around
That was just an Eagles-Giants game in the last

6 years of Coughlin. Standard debacle with game changing turnovers. Giants lose another game they could have won, at least it was beneficial to lose. If it was in Philly it would have been over in the first quarter.

36-44 with one winning season followed by a complete collapse. Hardly a success.
That total collapse

might have had some extenuating circumstances... they did indeed get off to a slower start but that season derailed when they announced they were leaving Cleveland.

Impossible conditions for a coaching staff.

He was building a winner. I'm sure he was learning on the fly but he was building a winner.
