I'm generally in agreement with this sentiment. I will say that I think people are making fun of the name, not the player.
The point is valid though and I try to remember that when players are cut, traded or whatever. Or coaches fired. These are human beings now left to pick up the pieces and it behooves us to show our humanity rather than piling on like jerks.

That's my guess. The Giants were rumored to sign around 8-10 UDFAs, so I think this makes room for them all.
